Different colours have been used to signify the

way in order to almost create a key for the reader

band names are the most noticeable parts of the
text in this sidebar because they are in a bold sans
serif font. This is almost a miniature article in itself
because it has its own selling line. The selling line
says ‘the world’s finest music guide’. This is
significant because the selling line on the front
cover of Q magazine is ‘the world’s finest music
magazine’.
There is another image along with a caption on the right hand side
under the header. This relates to another feature article which is
mentioned in the sidebar. The model is superimposing the header.
The image looks to have been taken from the audience of a concert.
This gives the reader more information about what is in the magazine.
Dropcaps have been used in order to emphasise the
page numbers. This has been done because it clearly
shows the reader where to find the feature articles.
They are a bold sans serif font, and the black used
creates a contrast against the background.

there isn’t any subscription information. This
is something common in magazine
contents pages. Also, there isn’t a letter
from the editor. This suggests that the
contents page could spread across 2
pages. The regular articles haven’t been
mentioned either, and this is something
