I welcome you , to visit our company profile of Texkom BD Limited
Managing Director
At the beginning, please allow me to make a short introduction
of the idea to found a sourcing company in Bangladesh.
I started my career at 1996 at Kaufhof Warenhaus AG in Hamburg, leading Department Store Chain in Germany. For the past 14 years I’ve been collecting experiences in
the large retailer groups such as WAL Mart Germany, METRO Group and REWE Group.
During my career I learned that the key for the successful and sustainable business are strong customer relations, especially in a nowadays market with numerous
competitors, companies offering competitive prices, quality, and reliability.
In the past 2.5 years, we build up a strong base for our clients, focusing on product development and quality, sourcing and compliance. We understand our business as
full vertical service to our customers as well as marketing and development of our vendors and manufacturers.
The garment sector in Asia has changed in the past years as China decided not to focus and support the garment sector anymore. Therefore the orders are shifting every
year more to the South East Asian continent. Especially countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan and India benefit from this newly created situation.
With its convenient position, Bangladesh took a chance to develop a unique position in the world specializing in garments with a strong vertical network. Starting from
raw cotton, spinning, knitting, weaving, dying and stitching, as well as production of almost all accessories and materials, Bangladesh today can produce high quality
products.
For the customers is more important than ever to know how and under which environment and conditions the products are getting produced. The products must be
produced in compliance with the highest safety standards and in line with German quality standards.
This is where our mission and responsibility starts...

BANGLADESH
Bangladesh, the southern Asian country has a population of approximately 164 million
people.
The economy of Bangladesh is significantly dependent on agriculture.
The readymade garments (RMG) sector of Bangladesh became the biggest earner of the
foreign currency. This sector creates about 4.2 million employment opportunities and
contributes significantly to the GDP. RMG in Bangladesh is powered by young urbanizing
workers, while most of them are women.
After Rana Plaza accident, foreign buyer associations such as ACCORD and ALLIANCE
developed together with the local manufacturing industry, higher standards for workers
such as worker safety standards as well as better working environments.
Meanwhile, as well as raising minimum wages, the Bangladeshi government has taken
some important steps which included hiring inspectors to conduct preliminary safety
inspections and registering more labour unions. In 2013 about 96 new trade unions in the
RMG sector registered with the Bangladesh Department of Labour (DoL), compared with
just two trade unions over the previous two years. Presently, 222 unions in the RMG sector
are registered.
The actual duty for Ready made Garments is 0.0% exports to the European Union.
