The document discusses the Texas STaR Chart, which is a tool used for planning, budgeting, and evaluating technological aspirations at schools. It is required for all Texas teachers to complete annually due to federal reporting requirements. STaR helps assess a campus's status on technology issues and is meant to ensure that schools integrate technology into classrooms rather than just computer labs, increase bandwidth, allow broader Internet access, and provide students personal computers. Completing the STaR Chart is important both because it is legally required and to help American students compete in a global, technology-driven economy.
