This document provides a method for testing the iron content of ferrous sulfate heptahydrate. The method involves weighing 1g of the sample and dissolving it in water with sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid. The solution is then titrated with potassium permanganate until it turns pink for 30 seconds. The iron content is calculated based on the volume of potassium permanganate used and its concentration. The difference between two test results should be no more than 0.4% for the results to be valid.
