PASSIVE VOICE
El “passive voice” es una construcción gramatical que se utiliza para enfocarse en el receptor de la
acción en lugar del agente que realiza la acción. Los usamos en los siguientes casos:
Cuando no se conoce o no se quiere mencionar al agente que realiza la acción.
1.
Cuando el enfoque está en lo que se hace más que en quién lo hace.
2.
Cuando la persona que realiza la acción es fácil de identificar o se puede inferir del contexto.
3.
Para variar la estructura de las oraciones y hacer que el texto sea más interesante o variado

La voz pasiva es comúnmente utilizada en inglés académico, formal y técnico, así como en noticias y
escritura profesional. Sin embargo, también se encuentra en contextos cotidianos. Es importante
entender tanto la voz activa como la voz pasiva para tener un dominio completo del inglés.

PRESENT SIMPLE PASSIVE
El “present simple passsive” se utiliza para hablar sobre acciones que ocurren regularmente en el presente y en
las que el sujeto recibe la acción en lugar de realizarla.
Statement Form: “Subject + am/is/are + pasado participio del verbo”
Ejemplos:
Active: Mary bakes the cake. (Mary hornea el pastel)
Passive: The cake is baked by Mary. (El pastel es horneado por Mary)
Active: Someone writes the report every week. (Alguien escribe el informe cada semana)
Passive: The report is written every week. (El informe es escrito cada semana)

PAST SIMPLE PASSIVE
El “past simple passive” en inglés es una construcción gramatical que se utiliza para describir acciones que
fueron realizadas en el pasado y en las que el sujeto de la oración recibe la acción en lugar de realizarla.
Statement Form: “Subject + was/were + pasado participio del verbo”
Ejemplos:
Active: The company repaired the road last week.
Passive: The road was repaired by the company last week.
Active: The students completed the assignment yesterday.
Passive: The assignment was completed by the students yesterday.

Nursing Home - Asilo de ancianos.
Prognosis - Pronóstico.
Vaccine - Vacuna.
Black out - Pérdida repentina y temporal de la conciencia, donde la persona afectada puede desmayarse.
After the accident, Sarah had a black out and couldn't remember anything that happened before the crash.
Follow up - Cita médica o examen adicional que se programa después de un tratamiento o procedimiento
inicial para evaluar el progreso del paciente o asegurarse de que no haya complicaciones.
After the surgery, the doctor scheduled a follow up appointment to check the patient's progress and
discuss any concerns.

Pass away / on - Eufemismo para referirse al fallecimiento o muerte de una persona. Es una forma más suave y
considerada de expresar la idea de que alguien ha muerto.
My grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep last night.
Pull through - Se utiliza para describir la recuperación exitosa de una enfermedad, lesión u otra situación difícil.
Despite the odds, the patient managed to pull through after the risky surgery.

El “past perfect continuous” se usa en:
Situación que ocurrió durante un período de tiempo antes de otra acción en el pasado.

  • 3. 02 PASSIVE VOICE El “passive voice” es una construcción gramatical que se utiliza para enfocarse en el receptor de la acción en lugar del agente que realiza la acción. Los usamos en los siguientes casos: Cuando no se conoce o no se quiere mencionar al agente que realiza la acción. 1. Cuando el enfoque está en lo que se hace más que en quién lo hace. 2. Cuando la persona que realiza la acción es fácil de identificar o se puede inferir del contexto. 3. Para variar la estructura de las oraciones y hacer que el texto sea más interesante o variado 4. La voz pasiva es comúnmente utilizada en inglés académico, formal y técnico, así como en noticias y escritura profesional. Sin embargo, también se encuentra en contextos cotidianos. Es importante entender tanto la voz activa como la voz pasiva para tener un dominio completo del inglés.
  • 4. 03 PRESENT SIMPLE PASSIVE El “present simple passsive” se utiliza para hablar sobre acciones que ocurren regularmente en el presente y en las que el sujeto recibe la acción en lugar de realizarla. Statement Form: “Subject + am/is/are + pasado participio del verbo” Ejemplos: Active: Mary bakes the cake. (Mary hornea el pastel) Passive: The cake is baked by Mary. (El pastel es horneado por Mary) Active: Someone writes the report every week. (Alguien escribe el informe cada semana) Passive: The report is written every week. (El informe es escrito cada semana)
