Within wireless carriers’ large technology environments, there are three conceptual layers that all have their own place in the network: Moving from the end-user to the network core, the radio/access network provides connectivity from the handset (mobile/cell phone) to the network via the air interface.
Then follows a core network plus service enabling layer that deals with things like coding techniques, transport and control for services, and security and quality of service techniques.
On top of that we operate the actual services visible to the end-user which we cover in this course: mobile Internet access, text messaging, picture and video messaging, mobile instant messaging, video and TV streaming services.

The word ‘DTH’ is synonymous with transmission of digital video channel to home
subscriber’s using a small dish antenna. The DTH utilizes a technology which enables a home to receive high speed internet broadband access data communication, voice over internet protocol (IP) telephony and much more using an open standard Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) technology. The video channels are received with a suitable set top box. It is Capable of demodulating Motion Picture Engineering Group (MPEG-2) standard videos. It is for the return channel required for other services such as voice over internet protocol and broadband access data communications, that a return channel is also required for the home terminal. The return channel via the satellite is called RCS and is an open standard. Hardware compatible with DVB-RCS technology are readily available in the market in both Ku-band and C-band. DVB-RCS is an international open standard for multimedia satellite network where the return data rates in access of 2 Mbps are possible using low cost user terminals. The forward ink is usually at 40 Mbps.
Today, most satellite TV customers in developed television markets get their programming through a direct broadcast satellite (DBS) provider, such as DISH TV or DTH platform. The provider selects programs and broadcasts them to subscribers as a set package. Basically, the provider’s goal is to bring dozens or even hundreds of channels to the customer’s television in a form that approximates the competition from Cable TV. Unlike earlier programming, the provider’s broadcast is completely digital, which means it has high picture and stereo sound quality.
Early satellite television was broadcast in C-band - radio in the 3.4- gigahertz (GHz) to 7-GHz
frequency range. Digital broadcast satellite transmits programming in the Ku frequency range (10 GHz to 14 GHz). There are five major components involved in a direct to home (DTH) satellite.

AN ANALYSIS OF FACTORS AFFECTING THE ADOPTION OF DIGITAL TERRESTRIAL TELEVISI...ijmpict
Digital Terrestrial Television (DTTV) Services is thought to bring many benefits to viewers compared to
regular analog televisions. Although many countries around the world introduced DTTV with such
benefits in their minds, the rates of DTTV adoption have been slow and many countries have to postpone
the analog switch-off date as a consequence. The objective of this study is to examine and understand
factors that contribute to consumer intention to adopt DTTV.
In this study we try to evaluate the benefits of consumers’ adoption of DTTV services by analyzing
consumers’ valuations on DTTV’s characteristics such as improved video quality, more available TV
channels, and other enhanced services against how much they want to pay for a set-top box (STB) or a
new digital TV (DTV). We employed a stated preference conjoint analysis method as a way to collect the
data from viewers across Thailand. Using such data, we estimated consumers’ utilities by applying a
discrete choice model to determine important factors and measure their significance. The willingness to
pay (WTP) for each factor by consumers will be also calculated. The result of the study will help policy
makers to understand Thai TV viewers and provide suggestions on how to promote efficient DTTV
adoption strategies.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

3. Introduction to DTH
• DTH stands for DIRECT-TO-HOME television.
• The reception of satellite programmers with a personal
dish in an individual home.
• DTH does away with the need for the local cable operator
and puts the broadcaster directly in touch with
consumer.
• DTH service is the one in which a large number of
channels are digitally compressed, encrypted, uplinked
and beamed down over a territory from a very high
power satellite.

14. DTH Benefits
• Cost effective communication, information and
entertainment to all.
• Small size terminals can provide up to 4000 TV
channels and 2000 radio channels through a click of a
button and thus brings world’s latest information,
news, and entertainment to your home.
• DTH services bypasses mediators and thus content
provider comes with customer directly.
• DTH services are transparent providing digital quality
video, audio, radio, and IP to all at equal prices and
other benefits with reliability.

15. Headend in The Sky (HITS)
• HITS is a multichannel downlinking, distribution and transmission
technology that enables all pay channels to be downlinked at a
central facility and then again be uploaded by the HITS operators
to its satellite after the encryption of channels.
• These signals are then downlinked by various Multi System
Operators (“MSOs”) and Local Cable Operators (“LCOs”) using a
single satellite antenna and sent to the customers/subscribers, who
can view these pay channels by using their set-top box.
• HITS services are allowed in both CBand1 and Ku-Band2 and
uplinking is permitted to both Indian as well as foreign satellites.
• The licensed HITS operator is allowed to directly contract with
various broadcasters for buying their content.

17. HITS and DTH
• HITS offers direct competition to the DTH operators.
• Unlike DTH, there will be sharing of revenue between
the broadcasters, HITS operator and the various cable
operators under the HITS system.
• The reception of signal is also expected to be better in
HITS as compared to DTH transmission.
• DTH operates only in Ku-Band, which is vulnerable to
rain and causes deterioration of signal, whereas HITS is
allowed to operate in both C-Band and Ku-Band.
• Since all channels can be transmitted across MSO/LCOs
using a single HITS satellite, the customer will be able
to enjoy a wide range of channels at a cheaper cost.
