TEIDE REFRACTORY SOLUTIONS 2011
PRESSED SUSPENDED DOME:
- Best cost/quality ratio.
- Better traction/flexion than concrete dome.
- Density average 1 Kg/dm3.
- Slow shut down and start firing required (1-2 weeks).

6. PRE-ASSEMBLING OF KILN CAR AT TEIDE’s
- Before any delivery, we carry out a test assembling of the shaped
goods. For this purpose we have a reserved area in our factory.
- This pre-assembling is a real-case verification of the project drawings.
- The pre-assembling also allows to detect any deviations from the ideal
case, and enables measures to be taken to offset the detected anomalies.

7. ASSEMBLING OF KILN CAR LINING AT CLIENT’S FACILITIES
Typical TEIDE kiln car for a red brick tunnel kiln:
* Levelling with a refractory castable:
- To set a levelled base for the lining.
- Seal the lining against passage of combustion gases.
- Allows small adjustments of the height of the lining,
e.g. in order to compensate chassis deviations
from the nominal height.

Necessary, if an ondulated sheet serves as base.
28. 28
TEIDE REFRACTORY SOLUTIONS 2011
Desirable, if a flat plate is used as base for the lining

* Calcium silicate plates, if considered on the design.
* Perimeter with pressed corners and extruded or pressed lateral
blocks, and the considered number of ceramic fiber joints.
* Central supports, cut between parallell discs after beeing fired.
Note: TEIDE prefers to supply supports without support lids, as each
lid would add tolerances to the total support height.
* Light- weight castable for fixing, between the supports.
* Insulating core of vermiculite
- When required by the operating conditions, an upper insulating
layer of light weight chamotte is applied.

Ceramic fiber joints.
* Draught hole blocks or viaduct bricks.
