The study seeks to examine the Bacteriological and
physiochemical properties of Sambrero River in Ahoada East
Local Government Area of Rivers State. Three (3) points were
sampled from different locations designated as location (L1)
location (L2) and location (L3) respectively, samples were
collected in 0.1m of Sterile containers and were transported to
the laboratory for immediate analysis. Ten (10) physiochemical,
three (3) heavy metal sand three microbiological parameters
were observed. Data was analyzed using standard methods
(ALPHA, 1998) 20th edition and Ms-Excel version 2013 software.
The result showed little variation in physiochemical parameters
which are in line with World Health Organization (WHO)
standard of potable water but shows much variation in
microbiological parameters which are not in line with WHO
standard, thereby making the water not wholesome and not
potable for consumption except after proper treatment of the
water. The work therefore recommends that members of Ekpena
Community should ensure basic water treatment such as boiling
and chlorination before consumption.

Vigar, Geoff, Stephen Graham, and Patsy Healey. "In search of the city in spa...Stephen Graham
Summary. This paper addresses the ways in which urban regions are represented in contemporary urban policies. In doing so, it critically examines how urban trends are reflected in diverse notions of ‘cityness’ in contemporary policy discourses about spatiality and territoriality. Through a detailed case study of the use and construction of the word ‘city’ in a range of urban governance contexts in Newcastle upon Tyne, this paper analyses the political work done by diverse representations and invocations of ‘cityness’ in contemporary urban governance. Such representations matter because the way in which contemporary cities are conceptualised influences policy formulations and policy outcomes. In addition, considerable emphasis is being placed in contemporary urban policy on ‘joining-up’, ‘integrating’ and co-ordinating governance efforts. How conceptions of the city are mobilised to do such integrating work provides insight into the challenge such ambitions present. The evidence from the case study suggests that the capacity of local actors to think about the processes of change in metropolitan regions, and to define the ways in which they can respond, is often limited, as they struggle to define what their ‘city’ actually might be these days. This tends to be to the detriment of collective attempts to maximise conditions for citizens and for investment.

Crimson Publishers -A Sensor Multiplatform for Non Invasive Diagnosis of Prostate Cancer By A D'Amico in Significances of Bioengineering & Biosciences
This work underlines the utility of a multiplatform based on the use of both artificial lactation and taste systems that show the ability to perform both gas and bio liquid chemical imaging. Preliminary results related to the investigation of prostate cancer suggest that high performance levels with diagnostic and screening purposes can be reached with non invasive experimental procedures.
Analytical Considerations When Monitoring Pain Medications by LC-MS/MSDavid Masters-Moore
Laboratory urine drug testing of patients on chronic opioid therapy requires providing a large test menu of medications commonly prescribed for this population as well as metabolites and illicit substances. It has been shown that liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) is the preferred method to analyze urine specimens for these substances.
Purpose of the study: To describe the challenges and some of the techniques to validate the analytical procedures used to identify and quantify these medications and substances.
Methods: Using data obtained from testing over one million specimens, the authors developed a proposed test menu. Potential isobaric interferences were established by using literature references. A list of potentially interfering medications was obtained by using the proposed test menu and the most commonly prescribed medications. Finally, criteria were designed to detect possible carryover.
Results: The LC-MS/MS instrumentation eliminated all potential interferences and provided quantitative data over the test range needed to monitor these patients. Carryover could be eliminated by setting the carryover thresholds for each analyte.
Conclusions: Reference laboratories utilizing LC-MS/MS technology to conduct urine drug testing for pain clinicians should employ specific techniques described in this study to develop an optimal test menu and validate procedures that include isolating retention times for isobaric compounds, identifying interfering substances including impurities in medicinal and illicit substance preparations, monitoring ion suppression, and avoiding carryover.
A Reliable and High Yielding Method for Isolation of Genomic DNA from Ammi MajusSandip Magdum
The developed protocol describes a cheaper, quicker and reliable method for the isolation of pure DNA from medicinal herbs, such as Ammi majus, which produces the secondary metabolites xanthotoxin and berganpectane having immense medicinal importance. Use of CTAB, liquid nitrogen and EDTA in different isolation protocols analyzed for A. majus, all were ended with polysaccharide and protein contamination with low purity of DNA (A260/280=1.3-1.6), revealed a need for method modification for the inexpensive and rapid isolation of pure DNA. Developed reliable and competent protocol isolated enough pure DNA (A260/280=1.81) without following time consuming lengthy steps and hazardous chemicals used in other protocols, which increase experimental costs, risk, and need expertise to perform. The explained protocol requires few chemicals and little time to obtain pure DNA having yield 688 μg/g of A. majus. A higher quantity of isolated DNA obtained from young fresh leaf samples than from either the callus or stem. A. majus is a pharmaceutically important medicinal herb, and the present protocol aids in the analysis and modification of its genes.

CHEMOMETRIC ANALYSIS AND IT’S APPLICATION IN HERBAL DRUGS
INTRODUCTION
Chemometrics is, "the chemical discipline that uses mathematical, statistical, and logical techniques to create or select optimal measurement processes and experiments, and to offer maximum chemical information by analysing chemical data."
ORIGIN AND DEVELOPMENT OF CHEMOMETRICS
Chemometrics is the English name for the Swedish term "kemometri," which was first used in 1971 by Swedish physicist Svante Wold
The following two journals were launched in the years 1986 and 1987: "Journal of Chemometrics" and "Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems" raised the intellectualization of equipment and provided new construction techniques for new, high-dimensional hyphenated equipment
CLASSIFICATION OF CHEMOMETRICS
Monovariate
Multivariate- Supervised, Unsupervised
CHEMOMETRIC TOOLS
PCA
A multivariate tool called PCA
It is used to identify the primary cause of variability in the data sets
It is used to determine the relationship between an object and a variable and to detect cluster formatting
The main goal of PCA is reducing the dimension of a data set and multivariate compression of data
