ABSTRACT:-
Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of placement. It is used to
facilitate the flow of Chi in the home, garden, office, etc. Feng Shui is
working with things as they are to try to enhance your life by bringing
it into harmony and balance with its surroundings, and does this
through the numerous but equally important principles of Feng
Shui. This essay is about the main principles involved in Feng Shui
and the use of Feng Shui in placement.
Feng Shui principle incorporates the Chinese compass of north, south,
east and west, in which south is located on the top, and in the center
of this compass is the “Middle Kingdom.” The direction of south
(summer) corresponds with warmth, heat, and vitality, and its
symbolic animal is the red phoenix, which represents beauty and
goodness. From the north (winter) comes cold snow and darkness,
and its symbolic animal is the black tortoise, which represents long
life and endurance. The direction east (spring), which is located on
the left side of the compass, corresponds to springtime, blue seas, and
new growth. Its symbolic animal is the azure dragon, which
represents majesty and magnificence. West (autumn) corresponds to
snowy mountains, and its symbolic animal is the white tiger, which
exemplifies bravery and strength. These elements are used for correct
arrangement of furniture in rooms.

• It is a complex body of system that reveals how to balance the energies of
any given space to assure the health & good fortune for people inhabiting
it.

harmony and balance with its surroundings.
• The Form Schoolwas originally concerned with the location and
orientation of tombs (Yin House feng shui), which was of great
importance.[23]聽 The schoolthen progressed to the consideration of
homes and other buildings (Yang House feng shui).
The evolution of Feng shui: Compass school
The Compass Schoolis a collection of more recent feng shui techniques
based on the eight cardinal directions, each of which is said to have unique
qi. It uses the Luopan, a disc marked with formulas in concentric rings
around a magnetic compass.
The Compass Schoolincludes techniques such as Flying Star and Eight
Mansions.
Works with a person's gender and birth date to determine their auspicious
number (Gua number).
You can use your auspicious number to determine your feng shui group.
In Compass school, everyone is either east or west group person.
East group - numbers are 1,3,4,9.
West group - numbers are 2,6,7,8.
Your group determines your lucky feng shui directions.
Once you know your lucky feng shui directions, you will try to face them at
work, at home, and when you sleep.

The Five Big D's:
• De-cluttering
• Deep cleaning
• Detailing
• Depersonalizing
10. 10
• Dynamizing
De-cluttering:
• Clutter = postponed decisions.
• Resistance to making a decision traps energy
• De-cluttering improves the flow of chi
• remove unnecessary items from (an untidy or overcrowded place).
• Decluttering is a pattern of behavior that is characterized by an excessive
desire to discard objects in one's home and living areas. Other terms for
such behavior includes obsessive compulsive spartanism. The homes of
compulsive declutterers are often empty.
Deep cleaning:
• A clean house offers relaxation - messes makes us tense, cleanliness relax
us.
• It takes more energy to deal with a dirty house occasionally than a clean
one regularly.
• Deep cleaning is the process oftaking a room out of a salable inventory
and thoroughly cleaning it to more exacting standards than is normally
performed during the daily housekeeping maintenance. Most guestrooms
are deep-cleaned between two and four times a year depending on the
occupancylevel of the house.
Detailing & Dynamizing:
• Detailing means taking care of necessary repairs
• Small decorative features on a building, garment, or work of art.
• Buyers routinely overestimate the severity of problems and the costof
repairs, this creates worry which is bad for chi.
• Dynamizing means tying all of it together to optimize flow of chi.
11. 11
• Give power or energy to; make dynamic.
Depersonalizing:
• Our goal is to create a universal appeal
• Eliminate items that are controversial, religious, and potentially offensive
or have strong emotional connections.
• Divest of human characteristics or individuality.
• Depersonalization can consist of a detachment within the self regarding
one's mind or body, orbeing a detached observer of oneself. Subjects feel
they have changed and that the world has become vague, dreamlike, less
real, or lacking in significance. It can be a disturbing experience. Chronic
depersonalization refers to depersonalization-derealization disorder,
which is classified by the DSM-5 as a dissociative disorder.
The Bagua:
• The Bagua or Pa Kua are eight symbols used in Taoist cosmology to
represent the fundamental principles of reality, seen as a range of eight
interrelated concepts. Each consists of three lines, each line either
"broken" or "unbroken," respectively representing yin or yang. Due to
their tripartite structure, they are often referred to as "trigrams" in
English..
12. 12
Colours & the Bagua of Feng shui:
The Bagua map:
A bagua map is a tool used in Western forms of feng shui to map a room or
location and see how the different sections correspond to different aspects in
one's life. These sections are believed to relate to every area or aspect of life
and are divided into such categories as: fame, relationships/marriage,
children/creativity, helpful people/travel, career, inner knowledge,
family/ancestors/health, and wealth/blessings.
In this system, the map is intended to be used over the land, one's
home, office or desk to find areas lacking good chi, and to show where there
are negative or missing spaces that may need rectifying or enhancing in life
or the environment.
For example, if the bagua grid is placed over the entire house plan and it
shows the toilet, bathroom, laundry, or kitchen in the wealth/blessings area
it would be considered that the money coming into that particular
environment would disappear very fast, as if to be 'going down the drain.'
