Knowing the Roots…
• Disproportionate number
of people entering labour
force by 2020, will account
nearly a quarter of the
global workforce.
• Out of those
disproportionate numbers,
385/450 million will enter
the informal sector, or will
remain unemployed.
Informal Sector: - Economic activity that is neither taxed nor monitored
by the government.
Causes
• Lack of awareness
Classified knowledge about the
opportunities available in the
informal sector.
• Poor Coordination
Competition and ego in
neighbouring challengers results in
poor or no coordination amongst
them.
• No job security
The informal sector is most liable to
face problems related to job
security.
• No Savings or Future
Planning
A person cant even afford 2 time
meal, forget earnings.
• Health Hazards
No suitable working conditions
contribute to health hazards related
to the informal sector.
• Increase in domestic and
foreign competition
• No Incentives
• Lack of Capital
College Reconstructing Informal Sector
in Indian Society (CRISIS)
• Uniting Colleges of all
streams in India and
starting an integrated
program which
involves students to
work (Paid or Unpaid)
for the welfare of the
informal sector
through a recognized
firm known as CRISIS
Our Plan and Perks
• A nationwide scheme developed with association of ALL government as well as recognized
private colleges to associate with CRISIS.
• Involvement of NGOs local government officials, and leaders of informal sector for smooth
execution of the plan.
• Creating awareness in public through social media, seminars, campaigns and rallies/street
plays.
• To create a government authorized body for the management of activities related to CRISIS.
• Creating different segments in the scheme to decentralize the power and to function in an
organized and efficient manner.
Detailed description of our plan
Involving students of colleges of all streams to work for a nationwide recognized body for the
welfare of informal sector by creating a group of active and determined students who are willing
to work for the development of the informal sector channelizing through Informal Sector Helping
Centres (ISHC). Students would be working in shifts apart from the college time for the
development of the informal sector. The working time (Generally evening and night time) will also
be beneficial for the informal sector workers as they wont have to skip their routine work.
ISHCs would be interconnected and will provide help in the fields of :-
• Banking and Investments (Commerce Colleges)
• Medical Facilities (Medical Colleges)
• Economic Livelihood (Management)
• Structural Livelihood (Architecture and Engineering Colleges)
• Law Systems and Practises (Law colleges)
