G-HIGHWAY WIND TURBINES
1. A description of the newly-designed system.
In the fast evolving world, new discovers are constantly changing our lifestyle on this
planet. Graphene known as the miracle material is the backbone of our idea. There is no
magic, it’s simply science. Graphene is the world’s thinnest material made from one-atom-
thick layer of graphite. This quality of graphene gives it endless possibilities. Graphene is 100
million times more current density than copper, better thermal conductor than diamond, &
super strong. This is exactly the reason why we use graphene. It’s the perfect material for our
application. The use of graphene in our system allows it to be more efficient. In addition,
graphene conductive traits allow it to move electricity faster and more efficiently. Our design
beats the existing solution from every angle.
The current turbines are made out of either a polymer or metal. These materials have a
trade off. Lighter designs lead to weaker structures and stronger designs lead to heavy
structure. The use of graphene in the structure of our turbines will allow them to be bigger,
stronger and most importantly lighter. The use of copper in the electric generator has been the
only option thus far. But now with graphene, a material that has 100 million times more
current density than copper and conducts electricity in the limit of no electrons. This allows
our design to carry charge more efficiency & faster.
Although graphene is not commonly manufactured in bulk yet, there are start-up
companies that work on the manufacturing of graphene. With this business plan we would be
investing in those companies, possibly helping them grow.
Highway wind turbines can harness the unused kinetic energy produced by wind that is
distorted by vehicles traveling at high speeds.

● Final Product
The objective of this project is to capture otherwise wasted wind energy from highway
vehicles through the use of wind turbines. Wind energy is considered among the fastest growing
sources of clean energy production, but under current systems wind energy is largely considered
unreliable due to variability of weather conditions. The wind produced from high-speed vehicle
transportation can provide aid to the existing wind generation systems.
The new design of wind turbines will revolutionize how we as a society utilize wind
energy. 3 or 4 propeller wind turbines are already in use for producing small amounts of current
in barns, for pumping water, powering telecommunication and storing electricity on the roofs of
homes to reduce electricity bills, but this design will be more efficient and environmental
friendly. This prototype design of the Double-helix wind turbine utilizes the this shape to
maximize surface area and absorb wind from any direction. As opposed to the regular wind
turbines, these turbines will take advantage of low velocity winds to produce the the most
electricity and are very quiet compared to the turbines already in use today. Although it has a
complex shape, its vertical structure will ensure that it conserves as much land as possible.
Thess turbine will be equipped with graphene (which would act as a super-conductors) that
transfer 100% of the electric current to the power grid at the respective municipalities.
3. An added advantage of the Double Helix Wind turbines is its spectacular beauty. These
structures can be erected to magnify the technological advancements of the towns and cities it is
being put in. They will serve as examples for other municipalities to follow.
