Team Collaborative Assignment – Week 2 2
This Week two paper is a collaborative response to a problem and how statistics can be
used to solve simple problems in everyday life. Three of six team members participated in the
discussion with the remainder of the team being missing. This paper was written based on
available responses from the partial team.
Staffing Restaurant Needs
Team member Sherry Kay proposed a problem of staffing at her restaurant job. The
discussion over a shortage of cooks and kitchen workers was had whereby I was the only
response to the problem. I proposed that they do a mean calculation of their busiest days and
determine staffing needs based on average wait times and total of customers served (on average)
for each of the days of the week. No response was received to this post.
Electronic Warehousing
Team member Monique Holmes proposed the problem of switching to an electronic
warehousing system to assist with her purchasing duties at her job. While there was a response
regarding the effective use of electronic inventory systems, I proposed problems with the
wireless systems and advised of bug fix times which could possibly hinder production. No
response was received to this problem by the team. Discussions would have been had to help
determine down time effect on productivity and job performance. Unfortunately, this discussion
was never had due to lack of input.
Cost of Labor Question
My proposed problem for the week was a temporary staffing problem and the value per x
documents and a question as to the valuation of bringing in temporary work. As of the writing of
this paper, none of the team members responded to the problem.
Team Collaborative Assignment – Week 2 3
Conclusion
While the team tried to collaborate this week, they fell short in responding to each
problem as instructed. While I responded to everything, even my responses were met with little
feedback or response as well as the inability by the group to decide on one problem to write
about. I beieve the team needs instruction on how to collaborate in a team environment as over
fifty percent of the team did not respond at all and those who did resopond did not do so within
the guidelines of the assignment. I am hoping this improves next week.
Deeper discussions into mean calculations, plotting, charting and confidence intervals
into success rates could have helped the benefit of this conversation. Unfortunately, team
members posted once and then walked away, thus hindering a postive paper pursuant to the
instructions for this Week two paper submission.

Team collaborative assignment week 2

  • 1. Team Collaborative Assignment – Week 2 Stacey Troup QNT/275 September 12, 2015 Dr. Jurista Ford
  • 2. Team Collaborative Assignment – Week 2 2 This Week two paper is a collaborative response to a problem and how statistics can be used to solve simple problems in everyday life. Three of six team members participated in the discussion with the remainder of the team being missing. This paper was written based on available responses from the partial team. Staffing Restaurant Needs Team member Sherry Kay proposed a problem of staffing at her restaurant job. The discussion over a shortage of cooks and kitchen workers was had whereby I was the only response to the problem. I proposed that they do a mean calculation of their busiest days and determine staffing needs based on average wait times and total of customers served (on average) for each of the days of the week. No response was received to this post. Electronic Warehousing Team member Monique Holmes proposed the problem of switching to an electronic warehousing system to assist with her purchasing duties at her job. While there was a response regarding the effective use of electronic inventory systems, I proposed problems with the wireless systems and advised of bug fix times which could possibly hinder production. No response was received to this problem by the team. Discussions would have been had to help determine down time effect on productivity and job performance. Unfortunately, this discussion was never had due to lack of input. Cost of Labor Question My proposed problem for the week was a temporary staffing problem and the value per x documents and a question as to the valuation of bringing in temporary work. As of the writing of this paper, none of the team members responded to the problem.
  • 3. Team Collaborative Assignment – Week 2 3 Conclusion While the team tried to collaborate this week, they fell short in responding to each problem as instructed. While I responded to everything, even my responses were met with little feedback or response as well as the inability by the group to decide on one problem to write about. I beieve the team needs instruction on how to collaborate in a team environment as over fifty percent of the team did not respond at all and those who did resopond did not do so within the guidelines of the assignment. I am hoping this improves next week. Deeper discussions into mean calculations, plotting, charting and confidence intervals into success rates could have helped the benefit of this conversation. Unfortunately, team members posted once and then walked away, thus hindering a postive paper pursuant to the instructions for this Week two paper submission.
