The National Scholarship Scheme provides up to £3,500 in funding to support teachers' professional development in priority areas like maths, English, science and special educational needs. Any qualified teacher working in eligible state schools in England can apply. The scholarship can be used for Masters' level courses or subject-specific seminars to strengthen subject knowledge and teaching skills. Applications will be accepted from June to September 2011, with awards announced in December.
