This document summarizes a journal article about the impact of renewable energy development on job creation in Indonesia. It finds that renewable energy development is expected to significantly increase employment opportunities, especially in the agriculture, manufacturing, and construction sectors. A model developed by the European Commission predicts renewable energy targets set by Indonesia for 2025 could create many new green jobs. However, measures would need to be taken to ensure proper labor practices are followed with the new jobs. In conclusion, renewable energy development is projected to have an overall positive impact on employment in Indonesia.
