A social group is a collection of
people who interact with each
other and share similar interests
and a sense of unity
The social group my
magazine will most likely be
New Affluent Workers. This is a
young class group which is
socially and culturally active,
with middling levels of
economic capital
I have chosen to target the New Affluent
Workers. Reason behind this is because
this particular group have a high level of
social and cultural activity. This is
beneficial as the target group I was
aiming for were people who like to get
out and about and meet new people.
As well as this they have a middling
level of economic capital. This is good
as it allows my magazine to be at a
slightly higher price but still affordable for
this group.
This group is usually based on the younger
audience. As well as this New Affluent
Workers have a medium level off income. The
benefits that my magazine will see by
targeting this social group are the fact that
the people within this bracket are socially
active and are normally of a younger age.
This will mean that they will generally be
interested in new and up to date music which
will therefore mean they will be interested in
buying my magazine. As well as this they
have a medium of economic capital
meaning they’ll be able to afford my
products.
