• Scenario
• I have been working as a freelancer and have been asked
to conceive, design and produce the main character for
Rockstar Games’ new title, Rome X. The game is set in a
futuristic Rome and is a role playing/adventure 3rd
person shooter.
I will write a profile for the game and character, which
will be used to create a design pack using hand-drawn
artwork, which will be developed into a 3D model of the
character.

2. The Game Introduce
Rome X is a free massively-multiplayer strategy game (mmo).It takes only 3 minutes to learn, and is
extremely fun!
Slaves’ riot led by Spartacus broke out and ravaged throughout the Roman Empire. Senatus sent the
legendary general Caesar to suppress the rebellion, but the shadow of suspicion stirred situation, and
the new flame of war ignited and raging over the country. You must pick a side in this troubled time,
build up your own city, recruit an undefeatable army of veteran soldiers and celebrated generals, and
bring peace again to this ancient land.
Presented in fantastic graphics, Rome is a historical multiplayer war game you can enjoy in its depth of
strategies, abundant elementals of units, equipment's, and futuristic style and weaponry.

3. Inspiration
• Inspiration:
Ryse: Son of Rome and Total War: Rome II were the two
games that inspired me to create this game other things
such as films like 300 and Troy and Gladiator also inspired
me to do this. The reason why I wanted to create a Rome
game but futuristic is because I enjoy watching those style
of films where it is set in the past and shows you what is
was like back then and how they struggled and fort for
empires between other army’s and countries.
The futuristic style that I wanted came across ideas from
films such as Avatar and Star Wars where they have
weapons that aren’t from this time. Also with the space
ships and shuttles I wanted them to be in Rome but to
match the style Rome was in.

4. Target Audience
The target audience for my game I went of for the audience of roman films
such as Gladiator, Troy, Spartacus. The audience will be targeted around 16+
year olds as it will contain strong language and scenes of a sexual nature.
I carried this out by reviewing certain games around the 16+ year old market
and a lot had to say that they didn’t find it that strong within he game and
didn’t understand why it was high age rated, but then others said it should be
18+ rated because of the sexual matter and the gore that was in the game.
I decided to keep it at 16+ because, although it has some gore in it when
killing other people and strong language with sexual nature in it, there wasn’t
that much to complain. I also wanted to keep it at 16+ because a lot of
teenage boys love killing games and games that have violence in them
meaning the sales will go up if the age is lowered.

5. Background Story
• Tanik was of humble beginnings, having been born near the town of Arpinum in Latium.
First serving in Spain, Tanik was essentially a military man. He did not hold any public office until he was voted to
the position of Tribune of the People in 119 BC.
In 115 BC he became praetor and married Julia, of the powerful patrician family of the Julii. This marriage should
in effect make him the uncle of Julius Caesar.
Next he served in Africa in the wars against Jughurta. The commander of the Roman forces, Metellus, was not very
successful against the foe, and so in 108 BC Tanik returned to Rome and stood for the office of consul. He won the
election, but now used his standing to persuade the comitia tributa so elect him the new commander of the forces
in Africa.
This was unlawful and showed how little the grizzled military man, which Tanik was, thought of following proper
procedures. For only the senate had authority to appoint military commanders.
• To raise new forces with which to set over to Africa, Tanik now broke yet another tradition. Rather than to enlist
from the landowning classes, Tanik now offered the soldier's job to Rome's poor, promising them adventure, glory
and booty. But most of all he offered them jobs, a means of making a living. Perhaps unwittingly Tanik set in
motion a revolution in Roman army affairs, and his action is a landmark in Roman history.
This new, professional army, trained by new methods introduced by Tanik, set over to Africa and made easy work
of bringing the war to an end. Although the eventual negotiations had most of the glory slip from Tanik' grasp, as
it was a young quaestor, Cornelius Sulla, who should achieve victory and peace in these talks, not Tanik.
At about this point in time (105 BC) a disaster befell the Romans on their northern borders. Under the command
of Caepio and Manlius, they suffered a crushing defeat against the barbarians at Arausio.
It was the worst setback the Romans had suffered since the awful defeat by Hannibal at Cannae.
Had Tanik and his new army of mercenaries crushed Jughurta, then now Rome laid its trust in him to save them
from the menace which lay to the north.
Tanik, elected consul again in 105 BC, enjoyed successive election victories as consul until 101 BC, during which
time his task was to destroy the menace of the Cimbri and Teutones, who had shattered the Romans earlier.
He did so in two great battles, annihilating the Teutones 102 BC at Aquae Sextiae and in 101 BC the Cimbri at
Campi Raudii near Vercellae.
