Horror films typically target audiences ages 15-18 due to their inclusion of gore, blood, and graphic scenes. To elicit fear and suspense, horror films feature threats of harm or death, which result in age ratings of 15 or 18 depending on the level of explicit violence. Older age ratings are more commercially successful for horror films since their audiences enjoy the suspense created by violence and threats. As a result, horror films with more intense threats and graphic content receive higher age certificates.
The document discusses selecting a target audience of 15+ for a horror/thriller media product. It notes that many similar films have been rated 15+ due to violent, sexual, or discriminatory content. A 15+ rating would attract their target audience of teens and young adults who are frequent social media users and could be advertised to cheaply online. Having a 17-year-old protagonist also makes the film appealing to younger viewers who identify with characters closer to their own age. The typical audience for horror films is 15-25, as younger viewers enjoy and are not put off by thrills and graphic images, whereas older audiences may find them disturbing. The film aims to attract both male and female viewers equally by having three female
The document summarizes peer feedback that was received on film trailers created by different groups in the class. The feedback was generally positive, with comments praising the shooting, editing, and sound of the trailers. However, some peers felt the plot was not always clear. To improve, it was suggested to review scenes and consider rearranging them for better clarity. The genre and target audience were determined to be clear. Specific technical aspects like effects, lighting, and framing received positive ratings. This feedback will help the groups strengthen their trailers.
The document summarizes several Film's Cool sessions that provided feedback and guidance from industry professionals to students on their production work. The first session focused on developing imaginative stories that audiences can relate to. The second session emphasized the importance of strong character profiles in scripts. The third session taught makeup techniques for realistic horror effects. Subsequent sessions addressed improving scenes, experimenting with lighting and angles, using After Effects, and finalizing the trailer with feedback on music, pacing, and overall flow.

The sessions covered topics like developing imaginative stories, improving character profiles, using makeup to make killings seem real for horror trailers, developing stronger scenes, experimenting with lighting and shots, and giving feedback on music, editing, and overall flow. The professionals included an actress, screenwriter, makeup artist, director, and others.
The document discusses a movie promotion campaign using a poster and magazine.
The poster effectively promotes the horror movie through its bloody image showing violence and attracting a teen audience. However, the magazine contains too much text and conventions to be as effective, though the terrifying model expression and edgy background indicate its horror theme.
The campaign aims to synergistically promote the movie through the magazine informing horror fans of new releases, and the poster visually advertising the film's content on buses, billboards and magazines to notify audiences.
The class feedback document discusses student feedback on a recent course. It covers the overall positive response from students on the quality of instruction and materials. While most feedback was positive, some students noted issues with assignment deadlines and suggested providing more examples to clarify complex concepts.

This document discusses a movie poster and analyzes various elements of its design. It notes that the image shows a creative representation of horror through an open mouth. It also comments that the title relates well to the image through the use of the word "prom" and a crown over the woman's face. Finally, it observes that the poster uses colors like black, blue, silver, white and red in a complementary way to convey meanings like death, fear, and danger without looking boring. The analysis of the unconventional poster inspired the document's author to create a unique poster for their group.
The document discusses the characters that will be included in a trailer for a slasher horror film. It will feature the following characters: Final Girl (Nina), Wanderer (Amber), Pervert/Jock (Kian), Popular Girl (Amber), and Geek. Each character type is described in 1-2 sentences. For example, the Final Girl will confront the villain and allow the audience to identify with popular characters. The Wanderer will be killed to start the slasher's killing spree. The Pervert/Jock will manipulate girls. The Popular Girl seeks attention. The Geek will come out of their shell. In closing, the document states these stock characters are crucial for audiences to
This document discusses several common character archetypes found in horror movies:
The jock is an athletic, popular character who often acts invincible but tends to die early in the film. The final girl is the sole survivor, who is strong-willed and influential. The popular girl is confident and the center of male attention, often friends with the final girl. The wanderer explores surroundings inquisitively but needs supervision, making them likely to die first. The geek provides reason but may help defeat the villain. The pervert negatively pursues girls and is targeted by the villain. These stock characters are crucial to horror films by making the audience able to identify with people in the movie.
The document analyzes shots from the "Texas Chainsaw" trailer that the author would like to recreate in their own horror production. Several shots are described, including a shot with light and dark symbolizing something watching over the main character, a long shot showing characters through bars to portray imprisonment and confinement as they enter a house, and a close-up shot of a character looking in a mirror with a shadow behind her, suggesting something is inside her as well. The shots analyzed provide ideas around themes of watching, imprisonment, and an unknown threat.
In the movie Final Destination 3, the Jock is a popular athletic guy who thinks he is undefeatable and can get away with anything. However, as with typical jock characters in movies, his overconfidence leads to his demise as death ultimately takes its toll on him. He behaves as if he is the best at everything until his life is ended by the unstoppable force of death.
This document provides a summary of the key scenes and events in a trailer for the movie "Prom Night". It describes the beginning which advertises the upcoming graduation party. It then introduces the main characters. Next it shows the build up of excitement and celebration at prom night among the students. It depicts the lights going out as problems start to mysteriously occur, including individuals beginning to die, though the deaths are not shown. This causes anticipation among the audience. The trailer then hints at an investigation into why the killings are happening and provides text for audience interaction throughout.
This poster analyzes the character of Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street film series. It notes that the medium shot shows Freddy is close and cannot be escaped. His body structure conveys strength and masculinity. His burnt face and hat make him mysterious and either hide features he is ashamed of or create fear. The colors black, red, and white used in the poster signify horror. The claw glove makes him threatening and suggests this is a slasher film. The word "nightmare" indicates the genre is horror. The missing tagline enhances the idea that Freddy is dominant.
The document summarizes the settings for a student film production. It will be set primarily at a school, which the target audience would be familiar with. The production takes place mainly indoors, with some exterior scenes. Indoor scenes include a graduation celebration at which mysterious events and deaths occur. Short clips of deaths will be filmed and edited to grab audience attention. Exterior scenes include a group discussion outside the graduation hall to build up tension before events inside escalate. A death also occurs in the school astro turf area to intrigue audiences about future events.
This document analyzes and summarizes the key visual elements of the movie poster for A Nightmare on Elm Street. It discusses how the claw glove worn by the villain Freddy suggests it will be a slasher film. It also analyzes the use of black, red, and white colors to convey horror and danger/death themes. Freddy's burnt face and hat are meant to create fear and portray him as inhuman. The document also examines elements of another poster, including a girl's damaged face that symbolizes the intrusion of danger into her normal life. Overall, the document provides a visual analysis of design choices meant to establish the genres and themes of horror and suspense for the movie series.
The document reflects on the progression from the author's preliminary task to their full magazine production. They learned new skills in Photoshop like changing picture effects and removing backgrounds. Their initial school magazine lacked elements like a compelling cover line and model's gaze, making it seem amateurish. However, their music magazine incorporated research, planning and elements like a direct model gaze that made it seem more professional. The author improved their skills in layout tools like InDesign and manipulating elements in Photoshop. Overall they felt their final music magazine was an improvement due to these added elements.
The student learned to use various technologies like Photoshop, InDesign, Excel, Blogger, Prezi, Slideshare, Jing, and QuickTime through constructing their media coursework. Blogger was used to present coursework, while the internet helped with research and blogging. Excel was used to create graphs, and a Canon DSLR took photos for a music magazine. Photoshop and InDesign were used to edit images and layout a double-page spread. A scanner captured hand-drawn plans, Prezi organized presentations, and Slideshare and Jing captured screenshots and presentations to embed in blogs.
The document discusses the progression of skills from a preliminary task to a full production. Specifically, it summarizes improvements made from an initial school magazine project to a subsequent music magazine project. For the school magazine, there was little planning or research, resulting in a less professional appearance. In contrast, the music magazine had elements like a cover line and strategically placed model eyes that made it look more polished. Additional skills like using Photoshop and InDesign were applied to enhance images and structure page layouts in the full production.
The document discusses potential media institutions that could distribute a new music magazine, including IPC which publishes well-known magazines worldwide but mainly focuses on music; Quincy Jones which specializes in hip-hop and R&B magazines that would relate to a hip-hop genre magazine; and Pearson which is a multimedia service that could bring readers and the magazine together as part of a useful organization. Popular institutions like the BBC, Sky, and CNN are also mentioned as possibilities.
The student learned to use various technologies like Photoshop, InDesign, Excel, Blogger, Prezi, Slideshare, Jing, and QuickTime through constructing media coursework. Blogger was used to present coursework, while the internet aided research and blogging. Excel was familiar from GCSE and easy to use for research. A Canon DSLR was used to photograph models for a music magazine. Photoshop helped edit images, and InDesign structured layouts like a magazine spread. A scanner provided evidence of planning, while Prezi and Slideshare created engaging presentations shareable on blogs and social media. Jing captured screenshots and screencasts, and QuickTime created screen casts for evaluations.
The document discusses potential media institutions to distribute a new media product. IPC, a large consumer magazine publisher, is suggested because they produce well-known magazines and have experience that could help a new magazine succeed globally. Pearson is also proposed as they are a multimedia service that connects people, which could demonstrate that the magazine is part of a useful organization. Distributing through a popular institution may reduce competition and support the new product.
The document compares the student's school magazine cover to their music magazine cover. The school magazine cover is seen as inferior for lacking a main headline and having a model not looking at the camera, making it seem childish. In contrast, the music magazine cover features a model with piercing eyes that may grab attention, and appears more mature and well-thought out.

The document evaluates 4 photos for use in a magazine. Photo 1 is in focus with piercing eyes, portraying a hip-hop style. Photo 2 shows passion for music in a side medium shot. Photo 3 is too dark to see facial details clearly. Photo 4 is also too dark and not a close-up or medium shot that could work for a double-page spread, and does not relate to the theme.
My target audience for my hip-hop music magazine is ages 16 and over of all genders and races, but particularly black readers as hip-hop was created by African Americans. It will attract outgoing, lively people interested in hip-hop who are in social classes C1 to E. The magazine will include gossip, music charts, competitions, and exclusive hip-hop artist interviews to engage and gratify readers. It will have a typical hip-hop magazine layout with close-up artist photos and use of red, black, gold, white colors and colloquial language. Advertising will promote hip-hop movies, albums, and concerts. As editor, I will work to align the language and content with readers'

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can

3. Demographics
The demographics of our target audience range from C2 to E. These
are the people who we assume that will watch our movie in the future.
This is because they tend to have free time to watch our movie. The
people that come under this category starting with E are, those who
are in education and casual workers. D are people who are semi
skilled and unskilled manual workers. C1 are those who are builders,
blue collar workers and plumbers. Finally the C2 are those who are
nurses and white collar workers. However it can be argued that our
trailer can be associated with all the demographics which include B
which are middle class and A who are upper middle class. This is
because our trailer is a horror trailer and any kind of people can watch
the movie in the future.
4. Psychographics
The type of people that may watch are trailer for our future film are those
who are explorers. These are people who are adventurous and full of
energy. These people are those who are up for new things and no afraid to
try new things. These people are supposedly young people.
Also another people under the psychographics category are those who are
aspirers. These people like to be in trend with things. They are seen as
materialistic and charismatic.
In addition those who are reformer I assume will see our movie in the future.
This is because they are free from restrictions and engage in personal
growth. They are not materialistic but aware of things that are seen as bad
taste.
However again it can be argued that horror films/trailers can be associated
with all the categories of the psychographics. These are strugglers,
succeeders and resigned.
5. Uses and Gratification
The trailer that we are creating is intended to show our
demographics and psychographic audiences through our
characters. This is by creating characters that the audience
can identify with. This includes characters like the
jock/pervert and a nerd.
