From Email to Appointments: no nonsense email marketing to recruit and retain...Allissa Haines
Email is now the most-used tool for online communication. It is a fast, affordable, and convenient method for contacting your clients, sharing your business’s message and encouraging return visit to your business.
The scary part is getting started and doing it right. There are laws that govern sales emails and techniques to getting them in the right inboxes and getting them opened. This class will teach you how you can use email to enhance relationships with current and potential clients, rules and best practices for keeping it ethical, and most importantly, how to build and grow an email list of Ideal Clients.
You’ve got a decent list of past, current clients, and potential clients. Maybe you have a “Sign up for my Newsletter” subscription box on your website. Perhaps you even manage to send out a monthly email to your list. What’s next? This class will address better techniques for getting your emails read, and more importantly, getting clients to book (and more often) as a result of effective email marketing. We’ll look at segmenting lists, A/B testing, analytics and the keys to creating compelling content that truly serves your audience and promotes your business.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Target audience
1. Vibe is a music and entertainment magazine founded by producer Quincy
Jones. The publication predominantly features R&B and hip-hop music artists,
actors and other entertainers. The magazine's target demographic is
predominantly young, urban followers of hip-hop culture.
Vibe magazine generally contains Featured segments included the back page
list 20 Questions, the Boomshots column about reggae and Caribbean music by
Rob Kenner, Revolutions music reviews and Vibe Confidential, a celebrity
gossip column. Next profiled up-and-coming artists. The magazine also devoted
several pages to photo spreads displaying high-end designer clothing as well as
sportswear by urban labels such as Rocawear and Fubu
A townie is normally aged between 11 and 15. Listens
to so-called 'garage' music such as Blazin' Squad and So
Solid Crew, neither of which is REAL garage music;
simply pop music with a stammering kid in fake
diamonds fronting the band.
A townie will normally dress in grubby shell-toed Nike
trainers, rolled-up Adidas tracksuit bottoms and an
unmatching jogging top, regardless of the sex.
An "Emo" really is just a confused teenager. The
entire Emo subculture is rooted in music. Emo is short
for "emotional" or "emotional hardcore." This type of
music came about in D.C. in the 80's The type of
people who listened to this music had common tastes
in fashion, and like many other fashion eras, they all
began dressing the same way. Now the term Emo is
associated more with behaviour and style than it is
with music. Simply don a pair Converse, a studded
belt, head-to-toe black, and angled bangs are typical
emo clothing.
2. chavs" are said to be aggressive and arrogant teenagers and
young adults, of underclass background, who repeatedly
engage in anti-social behavior such as street drinking, drug
abuse and rowdiness.
The main music genres chavs listen to are-
R&B
Hip-hop
Rap
My chosen genre of my magazine is going to be R&B. I am going to be aiming
my magazine at teenagers and young people. I have found out that most R&B
magazines such as vibe magazine are aimed at young people as they use a lot
of informal language like slang. Townies and chavs are probably my main
target audience as they listen to R&B and music like R&B. Chavs and townies
are young people who think there cool because what they wear and what they
do, these are two groups of people who listen to R&B. With R&B magazines
using slang chavs and townies understand this as they use slang a lot.
A bold title which stand out to the audience to get their attention.
An image of an artist or band on the cover. Normally dressed in casual
clothes. (jeans, polo shirt, hoody, trainers, high tops) I have also found
out that some of the artist in the images on R&B magazines are very
smart such as wearing a suit.
Cover lines to draw the audience in and reveal what is going to be inside
the magazine.
