Task 6 – Choose a musical genre/genres in your magazine. List the names of bands/artists that are part of this genre, a brief history of the genre and the type of imagery associated with it.
Musical Genre The genre I will be doing is a genre of music that covers Pop, Grime and R&B because it is the mainstream target audience that I would like to focus on. My magazine would be based for young teenagers from 11 – 21 year olds. I want to aim for an audience that listen to a mixture of music, the songs that are normally played on radios.
Pop Artists Taylor Swift Jessie J Adele Katy Perry Pixie Lott Rihanna Kelly Clarkson Bruno Mars Matt Cardle Justin Bieber Taio Cruz Olly Murs Tinchy Stryder Labrinth Ed Sheeran Ndubz
Pop Pop originated from the 1950s. Pop is sort for popular music. The type of imagery it is associated with, is the rounded font of the word pop which is interpreted on most of the pop magazines Eg.
Grime Grime originated from East London in the early 2000s. In these songs they have complex 2-step, 4X4, breakbeats, generally around 140 beats per minute, or sometimes structured around a halftime rhythm, and constructed from a range of string and electronic sounds. It is associated with dirt and slime, hence the font of the word would be more like this. Not very neat. The drippy effect. The letters are joined together
R&B R&B is a combination of hip hop, soul and funk. Although the abbreviation “R&B” originates from traditional rhythm and blues music, today the term  R&B  is most often used to describe a style of African American music in the earl 1980s. It is associated with dance and hip hop, up tempo music. Just capitals on this font. Nothing fancy. However there is an outline.
