If Freire Made a MOOC: Open Education and Critical Digital PedagogyJesse Stommel
Ceding authority is an active endeavor. Paulo Freire writes in Pedagogy of the Oppressed, "A revolutionary leadership must accordingly practice co-intentional education." The pedagogical value in openness is that it can create dialogue by increasing access and bringing together at once disparate learning spaces. We are in a critical time of history. What worked yesterday does not necessarily work today. It’s been proven that
organizations fail when they over-invest in “what is” instead of “what could be.” But why? Truth is, every organization is
successful until it’s not – and there’s only one sure-fire way to protect yourself from it happening to you, re-inventing yourself
destructing. The time of just showing up and doing your job is over. As Gary Hamel states, “Average is officially over because
every employer today has the means much more quickly, cheaply, and easily available to take you out.” That said, a new
breed of worker and leader is now required in the world today. People who are creative, able to communicate and can adapt
on the fly are indispensable. Our ancestors proved that you can shift from one system (agricultural) to another (industrial) as
long as you’re willing to change. So ask yourself, can you adapt?
Linda Rising, co-author of Fearless Change and the recently published More Fearless Change, has wondered for some time whether much of Agile's success has been the result of the placebo effect—that is, good things happened because we believed they would. The placebo effect is a startling reminder of the power our minds have over our perceived reality. Now cognitive scientists tell us that this is only a small part of what our minds can do. Research has identified what she likes to call “an agile mindset”—an attitude that equates failure and problems with opportunities for learning, a belief that we can all improve over time, and the view that our abilities are not fixed but evolve with effort. What's surprising about this research is the impact an agile mindset has on creativity and innovation, estimation, and collaboration—in and out of the workplace. Join Linda to discover what's known about the agile mindset and take away practical suggestions that can help you and your team become even more agile—and fearless.

Academic excellence vs. professional excellenceAbhipsha Mishra
Most students who excel in their academics don’t necessarily excel in their profession. For example; most CEOs are not necessarily toppers from the best B-schools. Why most often academic excellence does not translate into professional excellence? Where is the gap? Is it in the curriculum, system, corporate set up or somewhere else? How can we bridge the gap?

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel.
