We are being assisted in this exploration by Jennie Winhall, Director of Innovation for Participle in the UK as well as various other subject matter experts. We are trying to be as open as possible and believe that our 75 years of working with the arts and artists provides us with meaningful experience in creating impacts in our communities by advancing new ideas and new approaches.

An organizational vision statement should describe the ideal future state, uniqueness, and shared benefits. It should also include the organization's mission, values, goals, strategies, ethical standards, and desired outcomes to guide members and culture. A vision with a clear plan can change the world, but a plan without vision is just work.

I believe that existing company practices for hiring and “managing” knowledge workers do not support the development of happy, fulfilled and valuable staff. This results in unsustainable businesses with people constantly looking to move on to pastures new.
I have been lucky enough to work in an organisation that has always adjusted the climate to allow me to grow as an individual. Our organisation is a big player in the community and I believe that these practices should be rolled out to all the places where we work.
In this talk I attempt to use Lean Techniques to explore my hypothesis that we organisations need to implement a NEW Manifesto for Hiring and Retaining the best talent.

Major research centers have examined the impact of positive social interactions in the workplace. Research shows that companies who invest in positive social connections outperform those who don't in all aspects. A positive, socially engaging culture provides high returns - $100 invested in 1998 in a "Great Place to Work" company would have been worth $266 in 2008, compared to $180 for comparable companies. The Circles Agency uses tools developed from research in social contagion, emotional diffusion, and collective intelligence to build positive workplace culture without restructuring policies or organizations. Their approach focuses on social engagement, collective intelligence, and motivation to improve employee performance, productivity, and retention.
