Editor's Notes

  1. The pulp chamber is connected to tip of root by a narrow canal hence the name Root canal. When the cavity is deep enough to infect the pulp chamber, root canal treatment is indicated.
  2. 1. Plaque and tartar result in inflammation of gums known as Gingivitis . Gums become red, swollen &can bleed easily. No loss of bone. 2. Gingivitis if not treated leads to Periodontitis or inflammation around the tooth. Gums pull away from teeth to form pockets that are infected with loss of bone. If not treated ,teeth may become loose and have to be removed.
  3. 1. Baby teeth remain in children's mouth long after the children are no longer babies , they continue to function up to early teen years 2. Running a damp cloth over baby’s gums will clean bacteria after milk feeding and massage gums regularly with a finger. 3. During teething give the child a non sweetened pacifier or a frozen teeth ring to bite on to relieve the pain. 4.
