So I was asked to address your group a couple months ago, things have sort of changed since then, there is a anxious feeling now. Hi I’m Laura, I review resumes for a living. I’m here to give you the skinny… I come here not as an expert and not as a career counselor, but as a recruiter in the field to pass on to you what I know and what I’ve researched through other large healthcare systems. I spoke to Kaiser, Exempla, HealthOne (HCA) and 3 rd party executive recruiters.
Hopefully some things will be covered today that will be helpful to you, I wish we could just chat.
How many of you have your resumes ready to go at any moment? I like to think of my resume as a work of art that I’m constantly perfecting Connect with your references, old co workers, colleagues and executive recruiters Get in on those conferences, webinars, seminars anything to get you in the know on the market When posting your resume to sites, recruiters/employers understand confidentiality is paramount
Think about what you want ideally, what you’re passionate about, what you know you are best at, focus your resume accordingly If you don’t know what you want to be when you grow up, no worries, but not recommended to communicate this to recruiter/hiring manager

I’m loyal, dependable, people-person Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards so be willing to take a step back in salary and role when changing fields Has anyone encountered the pre-screening questionnaires? Does anyone know how a search agents works?
