TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Trent Pollard has been a member of my Pastoral Care Advisory group at Daramalan College
for the last two years. (2011-2012). Duringthat time I have come to know him as an
enthusiastic, friendly and affable young man. He has developed positive relationships with
his peers and demonstrated the ability to get on wlth a wide range of people ofdifferent
interests and ofages. He reliably attends assemblies and pastoral care meetings and always
wears the uniform correctly and takes pride in his appearance.
Trent has demonstrated his willingness to help others in the school community. Last year,
he undertooktraining as a Mental Health Ambassador. This is an important role in the
college which he has carried outwell. ln this role he has offered support and a willingearto
those in the school community in need. His welcoming and open nature made him well
suited to this role. He also participated in the Teenagers Teaching Teenagers Programme
which involved training in teaching younger students about drugs and alcohol. He then
presented the programme to Year I students, showing good organisational and leadership
skills.
Trent is a talented and capable sportsman. He has played in the Cricket 1st Xl in Years 11
and 12 aswell as performinBthe role ofVice Captain. He has coached individuals and junior
teams and played representative cricket for the Australian Southern Colleges 1s X1. Trent
has also represented the school in Rugby Union in 2010 and 2012.
His enthusiasm and abilityto inspire others have been an assetto our House, and he has
demonstrated leadership qualities at Swimming and Athletic carnivals by helping to organise
competitors and leading chants. He has also helped out with fundraising events, generously
offering his time to run sausage sizzles and other adivities.
I have no hesitation in recommending Trent forthe GAP program. I am confident that
Trent's genuine interest in others, his love of sport, leadership qualities and ability to
conned with people would make him a suitable candidate.
