Personal Statement.
I am a responsible, hard working individual with a positive attitude to all tasks I am
set. I have a good humoured personality which I found helps me bond well with
people of all ages. I have excellent PC skills for programmes like Excel, Power point
and Word. My data entry skills are very good too.
Work Experience
February 2016 – Present Prince’s Trust (Senior Job Ambassador)
Following the promotion to Senior Job Ambassador in The Prince’s Trust, I
continued my previous roles of helping to find opportunities of work and training for
unemployed young people in The Trust’s target groups. This new role required me to
cover the North Region and provide support to other Job Ambassadors in Burnley,
Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle. This meant arranging meetings with them, weekly
phone calls, provide email support and shadow them with their work to ensure they’re
working to the best of their capability. This required me working closely with some of
the line managers of the Job Ambassadors as I’d help performance manage and set
objectives for the Job Ambassadors to focus on. Outside of my role I would go onto
developing relationships with other organisations for a potential working partnership
to deliver a programme for the young people in the target group. I then went on to
helping the fundraising team put a bid together and deliver a presentation to get the
funding for certain programmes to be delivered in Hull. I made sure I maximised the
opportunities available to get as much experience as possible therefore whenever
there’s programmes delivered in Hull I would also provide support to my colleagues
running the programmes and help with the young people.
July 2015 – January 2016 Prince’s Trust (Job Ambassador)
During this role my main duties are; promote The Prince’s Trust and other
opportunities to unemployed young people from The Trust’s target groups,
backgrounds and needs. I’d maximise the range of other opportunities by reaching
out to external organisations and build working relationships. I would meet at least 80
young people per month where I would have one to one’s with young peoples and
support them with routes to employment, education and/or training. I would deliver
information sessions to groups of young people/external companies employees on
what I do, what The Trust does and how we can help. All young people I’ve referred
to internal/external opportunities I would input their data on an electronic database. I
also experienced what other roles entailed within The Trust, I would help recruit for
internal programmes The Trust are deliver and would then go on to helping on
programmes delivered by The Trust. To be able to refer young people externally I
would find other organisations in Hull that offer traineeships and apprenticeships that
would be suitable for young people, organisations I’d work closely with are;
Intraining, Hull Business and National Safety amongst many more.
December 2014 – January 2015 VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas)
Over this 8 week period I was based in Tanzania in Africa, this was as a volunteer
through VSO. My main role during this position was discussing SEXUAL HEALTH
AWARENESS within the local villages and schools. I also adapted an additional role
due to my employment back in the UK. I ran football coaching sessions locally, and
even approached their government to get the talent noticed (hopefully leading to
talent scouts, etc.)
October 2012 – April 2015 Tigers Trust (Football Coaching)
During this role my main duties are; planning and delivering both theory based and
practical sessions to cater the different age groups ranging from 4 – 21 years. A lot of
this is working in schools across Hull & Surrounding Areas. I worked with troubled
young people in a social inclusion project on Friday and Saturday nights to give them
something constructive and support them beyond football. I also covered a lot of the
administration duties too.
I resigned from this role after guidance from my bosses to sign up to VSO and further
my skills.
January 2013 – April 2015 Hull City FC (Match Day Assistant)
This role initially started as a voluntary role through Tigers Trust. But due to my
commitment & Efforts the bosses at Hull City gave me the opportunity to be on their
pay role. My Duties include organising staff rotor, and ensuring individuals
understand their duties. Pre Match & Half Time supervision, and other activities.
June 2013 - October 2014 Prince’s Trust (Young Ambassador)
Due to my work with Tigers Trust and previously participating in a Princes Trust
course back in October 2012, I was given the voluntary role of Young Ambassador.
This was an honouree position, even though it was voluntary. The main role of a
Young Ambassador was public and motivational speaking, for different sources. I
spoke for audiences over the radio, face to face. I was even selected to give Rio
Ferdinand an interview at Old Trafford, for Manchester United TV with Sally Nugent
presenting the show. I led interviews and initial assessment for individuals seeking
employment with the trust.
Education
September 2009 - June 2011 Hull College (Queens Gardens)
During my time at Hull College I was studying Business Studies Management.
September 2004 - June 2009 Malet Lambert Secondary school
During my time at Malet Lambert School, I completed all of my GCSE’s to an average
standard. Gaining grades D in Mathematics, C in English and Science. I achieved
passes in all other subjects I took, such as German and Business Studies.
Interests & Achievements
My hobbies include: Football, Wrestling, Reading, and Films.
I was a Prince’s Trust young ambassador, a finalist for Celebrate Success and more
recently had the honour of meeting Her Majesty the Queen.
