Interactive Voice Response (IVR) is an automated telephony system that interacts with callers, gathers information and routes calls to the appropriate recipient.
Interactive Voice Response (IVR) is an automated telephony system that interacts with callers, gathers information and routes calls to the appropriate recipient. An IVR system (IVRS) accepts a combination of voice telephone input and touch-tone keypad selection and provides appropriate responses in the form of voice, fax, callback, e-mail and perhaps other media.
An IVR system consists of telephony equipment, software applications, a database and a supporting infrastructure. Common IVR applications include:
Bank and stock account balances and transfers
Surveys and polls
Office call routing
Call center forwarding
Simple order entry transactions
Selective information lookup (movie schedules, etc.)
An IVR application provides pre-recorded voice responses for appropriate situations, keypad signal logic, access to relevant data and, potentially, the ability to record voice input for later handling. Using computer telephony integration (CTI), IVR applications can hand off a call to a human being who can view data related to the caller at a display.

Then welcome to this PowSyBl workshop, hosted by Rte, the French Transmission System Operator (TSO)!
During the webinar, you will discover the PowSyBl ecosystem as well as handle and study an electrical network through an interactive Python notebook.
PowSyBl is an open source project hosted by LF Energy, which offers a comprehensive set of features for electrical grid modelling and simulation. Among other advanced features, PowSyBl provides:
- A fully editable and extendable library for grid component modelling;
- Visualization tools to display your network;
- Grid simulation tools, such as power flows, security analyses (with or without remedial actions) and sensitivity analyses;
The framework is mostly written in Java, with a Python binding so that Python developers can access PowSyBl functionalities as well.

PHP Frameworks: I want to break free (IPC Berlin 2024)Ralf Eggert
In this presentation, we examine the challenges and limitations of relying too heavily on PHP frameworks in web development. We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.

The software from GCL allows the easy electronic validation of seat sales for your
venue, all from a mobile phone. Transaction reads take less than 1 second and are
charged as data, so cost next to nothing.
The new NFC phones have a feature called Near Field Communication, which makes all
the following innovations possible:
• Verify ticket validity for an event and provide full buyer details straight from the
phone to your server.
• Cards use fully encrypted integrated RFID ISO 14 440 standard chips.
• Data sent via encrypted web service
• Technology needs no fixed infrastructure, will work at a different venue or
turnstile each night from the largest to the smallest.
• Extra staff can be quickly deployed and ready for work
GCL provides full integration with existing ticketing technology or we can provide a fully
operational Access solution with integrated campaign manager, loyalty, e-purse etc.
Manage venue staff and safety
NFC can:
Show on the smart mobile when all stewards are in place and hold a record of time of
entry and exit.
• Save costs as staff wages can be managed more easily
• Give irrefutable evidence that Health & Safety inspections have taken place
2. • Ability to provide instant messages to all handsets and assists with staff safety
So, what is the difference over our competitors and this
new technology?
• NFC mobile phone is able to read RFID smart card technology
• The phone transmits the data back to a server using GPRS
• Each Swipe of a card is verified with the server and authenticated at the venue
• All in 1/10th of a second and costs next to nothing as it is data
• If the venue has poor mobile signal or is underground then a Local Area Network
(LAN) can be installed
• The phones are downloaded with the full event seat sale information and can act
independently if power is interrupted or LAN fails.
What can you do with it?
Here are two examples of ways to use NFC
Club Season Card: Smart Cards are sold to season / membership supporters of the club.
The season card is charged with relevant entry to all events for the season. The cards
cannot be duplicated and all that is required for entry to each event is a swipe over the
NFC phone. It is simple, secure and very effective.
External Loyalty Partner Provision: Provide a new external loyalty scheme to increase
partners. Provide each partner with a mobile phone. Each loyalty card user can now
swipe their card over the mobile phone at partner site and data regarding sale is sent
straight back to club. This provides real time data transfer on loyalty success and
information on numbers of users for club and loyalty partner.
It is effective, audited and secure.
As a club what do you need?
• NFC enabled phone from GCL mobile partner
• NFC Software from GCL on a pay per user per month basis
• RFID cards which may last for 4 years as they are powered by the phone
• RFID card printer/encoder ~ to provide cards to casual supporters
How do you get started?
• Ask GCL for either a demonstration or a consultancy visit at a time and place that
suits. Both are free and take between one to two hours
• If your company feels they can benefit from this innovation, ask for a quote
