Excitement fills my heart as 2018 approaches, but I would love for the concept of SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT to come to a reality through our actions. Portland Beach Flex is a Jamaican beach party which has taken into consideration ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY and will promote the use of biodegradable cups and plates at the event set to take place on January 28, 2018.

I am excited about 2018! I declare it to be the year I apply
the lessons learned in 2017. My advice to you is to do things
that will last! Whether it be the legacy or the immense
impact. Do 2018 SUSTAINABLY!
Countries across the world all have a target in 2030;
to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure
prosperity for all. We are aware of the plight of the
developing world, and the occurrences of both
natural and human-caused disasters. In 2018, it only
makes sense for us to STOP doing what we have
been and START doing what we should.
Sustainable Development has been the talk of the town in
2017 because, Yes, it is URGENT! but if we continue to
treat Sustainable Development like a CONCEPT or merely
a topic to discuss, then we will not achieve sustainability by
2030. We need to start ACTING. More than 1 billion people
are still without electricity, over 700 million are living in
poverty, inequality and resource depletion continues. Yes,
there have been a few successes to celebrate, but in 2018, let
us ALL play our part and make SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT a reality!
I want to commend the efforts of Fulcirclemusik & Sizzla Kalonji
Records in Association with the Alligator Head Foundation. What
makes PORTLAND BEACH FLEX an event that ALL events for 2018
should follow? The fact that ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
is at the forefront; patrons will be using biodegradable cups and plates.
The Jamaican event features artistes like SIZZLA, BUGLE, WAYNE
MARSHALL & WAYNE J among many others.
Admission: $300 in the day; $500 in the night.
