The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by the UN in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all by 2030. The 17 integrated SDGs recognize that progress must balance social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Countries have committed to prioritizing progress for the most vulnerable. Key issues addressed by the SDGs include poverty, hunger, health, education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, economic growth, infrastructure, inequality, sustainable cities, responsible consumption, climate change, life below water, life on land, peace and justice, and partnerships.
