ShopBack conducted an online survey of 5,673 Indonesian respondents age 18+ in 5 cities in September 2018. The survey examined Indonesian consumer behaviors around promotions, cashback rewards, and point rewards. Key findings included that the most popular ecommerce promotions were discounts, vouchers, and cashback. On average, respondents spent 639,000 Rupiah during online shopping festivals, with men spending more than women. 70.2% of respondents made 1-10 transactions in the past month due to cashback rewards from ecommerce platforms. The survey also explored cashback awareness, spending behaviors related to cashback, and perceptions of cashback rewards programs.
