Bacterial cellulose (BC) has several promising biomedical applications including as a drug carrier, for tissue engineering in regeneration and repair, as wound dressings, and as antimicrobial biomaterials. High magnification images show muscle cells adhering to BC and a BC/potato starch composite after 4 days of culturing, demonstrating its potential use for tissue engineering applications.
