By scraping data from crowdfunding campaigns posted on gofundme.com, I trained a Random Forest Classifier to predict the outcome of campaigns. Those that raised at least 80% of their goal were labeled successful. This model accurately classified 74% of campaigns. Successful campaigns tended to ask for less money and are shared more on Facebook. These campaigns also raise 80% of their goal in about a week less than those that do not obtain as much. Organizers of most successful campaigns initially provided a description of about 100-250 words (about half to one typical double spaced page). These insights can help organizers build campaigns that have a higher probability of raising money.
