This document outlines a project between several European educational institutions aimed at improving teaching strategies and developing digital, language, intercultural, and professional competencies for adult learners. The partners will visit each other, exchange practices, create new learning materials, and develop a website and book collecting motivation practices. Activities include collecting teaching practices from teachers, surveying learners on motivation, testing practices in classes, and evaluating results. The goal is to motivate learners through innovative methods and increase understanding of other European cultures.

7. GENERAL OBJECTIVES

8. To improve teaching strategies. To improve digital competence, foreign language competence, intercultural communication competence and professional competence. To develop a web site and a book or digital book where we are going to collect good teaching and motivation practices to prevent the education giving up of adult learners.

9. CONCRETE OBJECTIVES

10. To improve the teaching strategies of the adult education trainers with new methods. To motivate innovative learning practices development using new information and communication technology. To provide innovative learning practices development and exchange it between partners.

11. To increase the database of the partners in teaching and learnig processes. To increase adult learners capacities to play a full and active role in society. To make aware about cultural, social and economic variety of Europe

12. ¿WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO TO ACHIEVE OUR OBJECTIVES?

13. To visist each other. To exchange experiences and knowledge. To compile the use of new technologies in our organisation. To describe teaching practices used in our institution. To prepare presentations of teaching practices.

14. To use in our work the new technologies. To create new learning materials to use in adult education. To create new best practices and helping our colleagues how to use them. To researche motivation practices. To know the history, culture and habits of other countries from Europe to really overcome frontiers.

15. WORK PROGRAMME

16. October, 6th 2010: Meeting visit in ISTITUTO LUIGI STURZO (Italy) to meet every partner, introduce our institutions, talk about the different activities, decide the method to comunicate every month, distribution of tasks, organize blog creation and organize activity to compile teaching practices.

17. October, 2010: To start the blog. To decide its contents, structure and design.

18. November, 1st 2010: To start the collection of information about teaching practices from all teachers in every institution. The purpose of this activity is to create a data base with different teaching practices and the means used. To analyze and select the best.

19. January, 16th – 19th 2011: Meeting visit in AGRUPAMENTO DE ESCOLAS DE PERAFITA (Portugal) to presentate our results about teaching pratices / motivation ways collection’s activity asking teachers and to presentate and decide about the questionnaire we are going to use to ask about learner’s motivation.

20. February, 1st 2011: To start the collection of information between learners in every institution about what is their education motivation and ways to motivate them. The purpose of this activity is to create a data base with different ways to motivate learners.

21. May, 8th – 11th 2011: Meeting visit in ŞCOALA SPECIALĂ nr. 10 (Romania) to presentate our results about teaching pratices / motivations ways collection’s activity asking learners.

22. October, 2nd – 5th 2011: Meeting visit in ŞAKİRPAŞA PUBLIC EDUCATION CENTRE (Turkey) to presentate the definitive teaching practices that every institution will contribute to include them in the web site and book. To organize the activity about using teaching practices in the institutions.

23. October, 2011: To use the teaching practices selected with the learners in every institution.

24. January, 15th – 18th 2012: Meeting visit in ENTE CARLO SMALDONE (Italy) to presentate activity from october 2011 and decide the structure of the book.

25. February 2012 : To finish the book and translate it in every partner’s language.

26. May, 6th – 9th 2012 : Meeting visit in IES ABDERA (Spain) to present partnership results: the blog, the wite site and the book.

27. RESULTS

28. November 2010: A blog. January 2011: Every partner have to contribute, at least, with one teaching pratices / learner’s motivation (teachers / trainers’ way). 29. DISTRIBUTION OF TASKS

30. The coordinating partner will be the formal contact. The coordinating partner will have the prime responsibility for overseeing the implementation of the project.

31. All partners will contribute to its implementation by undertaking specific tasks. For example the partner hosting in a project meeting or mobility will make the necessary arrangements such as accommodation, the draft programme including visits, etc.

32. The coordinating partner will monitor the activities proposed and organized the evaluation of the work performed. At work meetings it will be proposed, in advance, the content and agenda of the visit by the centre being visited.

33. All partners will carry out similar tasks in their institution simultaneously and outcomes will be shared at project meetings or electronically. All partners will participate to the design, development, implementation and evaluation of the project.

34. ¿WHY THIS PROJECT IS NEEDED?

35. We want to learn together how to better motivate adult learners with different and innovative strategies. This project is going to be a learning experience for our organitations. We are going to know other teaching practices and methods for adult education.

36. Collaboration will increase our knowledge about the new technologies. The learners will profit it because the new technologies are going to be used not like a simple way to access to the information but like an object of knowledge itself and like a way to the professional develop.

37. Learners to be enriched by the contact with workmates of other countries. It is going to be an opportunity to participate in authentic language learning contexts through direct communication and exchanges.

38. ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT OF ALL PARTNERS

39. All partners have to develope the activities planned. In the work meetings, each partner will present the activities and actions that are developing. Each partner will undertake an annual assessment of their institution’s activities.

40. LEARNERS' INVOLVEMENT

41. In this project it is very important to have the active participation of learners since one of our principal objectives is to find ways to motivate them. In all institutions learners will get involved in the project.

42. In February 2011 they will have the main role in the activity to collect information about ways to motivate them, as they will be the ones who will provide the information.

43. They will come to the meeting in Romania in May 2011 to help providing their opinion in the analysis of teaching practices and motivating ways. In October 2011 they will have the main role in the activity to use these methods, as teachers will use them with the learners. They will come to the meeting in Italy in January 2012 to give their opinion about their experiment with the activity from October 2011.

44. They will come to the meeting in Spain in June 2012 to present the blog and the wite site. We will need their participation in the activities assessment. They will create a document to assess some aspects of development process and results of the blog and the web site.

47. COOPERATION AND COMMUNICATION

48. Partners will be in continual contact by Internet via email to send materials, pictures, a report of the activities… Monthly all partners will contact by web or video conferencing for online meetings. We will use a blog to assure a costant communication. We will phone us when it will be necessary.

49. EVALUATION

50. We will use evaluation questionnaires for every activity and meetings to evaluate its profits, its length, the program, the participation and the results. The use of internet resources between every meeting will guarantee continue evaluation to identify the project progress.

51. In the final meeting a qualitative questionnaire will be given to all the partners to verify if the project objectives and the outcomes have been achieved. After the partnership we will do a comparative analysis from learners' results before and after the use of teaching and motivating methods contributed by partners.

52. DISSEMINATION OF RESULTS

53. IN THE PARTICIPATING ORGANISATIONS Through a conference where the project will be explained. To publish date, time and place for every activity. The final products will be translated in the partners languages. Realization of an appropriate space for the project on each organization's website.

54. IN THE LOCAL COMUNITIES Providing information to local radio and press. Organizing a conference in the community cultural center to explain the project. Meetings with public authorities.
