1. After working for 11 months as an outsource, I have transferred to WORTHINGTON-ARITAS Pressure
Vessel Co. , the joint venture between Worthington Industries and Aritas Pressure Vessel Co. , as
"Stress and Optimization Engineer". My current position involves the use of ANSYS for finite element
analyses of various types of cryogenic pressure vessels.
Following types of analyses are employed heavily during design and optimization process;
- Linear-elastic structural analyses
- Non-linear (geometric, contact, material) structural analyses
- Modal and response spectrum analyses for structural dynamics
- Steady state thermal analyses
- Parametric analyses for optimization purposes
Major projects that I have been involved are;
40 ft. Cryogenic ISO-Container for LNG (ASME, ADR)
- Structural development and detail design
- Thermal stress analysis of piping at annular space
FISKERSTRAND 125m³ Marine LNG Storage and Fuel System
(Classification Society: DNV)
- Overall structural development, detail design and determination of loads acting on the structure as
per DNV rules pt.5 ch.5, pt.4 ch.7, pt. 6 ch. 13 and IGC code. FEA calculation for ULS and FLS.
- Thermal stress analysis of piping system at annular space, TCS and bunkering station.
- Non-linear buckling assessment of the Jacket with initial imperfection as per
“DNV-RP-C208- Determination of Structural Capacity by Non-linear FE analysis Methods” and
comparison of results with eigenvalue buckling in order to meet mutual agreement with DNV to
increase design speed with use of eigenvalue buckling.
- Fatigue Evaluation and optimization of relevant components of the vessel as per
“DNV-RP-C203- Fatigue Design of Offshore Steel Structures” (Supports at annular space, saddles
etc.)
- Thermal Analysis and structural assessment of the vessel at operating conditions and at cryogenic
fluid leakage condition.
- Follow up of the approval process with DNV – Norway.
2. BOREAL TRANSPORT 70m³ Marine LNG Storage and Fuel System
(Classification Society: DNV)
- Overall structural development, detail design and determination of loads acting on the structure as
per DNV rules pt.5 ch.5, pt.4 ch.7, pt. 6 ch. 13 and IGC code. FEA calculation for ULS and FLS.

- Thermal stress analysis of TCS piping after introduction of the new cryogenic feeder pump to the
existing system.
- Design calculations / stress and fatigue analysis of the vessel for the cryogenic submerged pump
and determination of loads as per DNV rules pt.5 ch.5, pt.4 ch.7, pt. 6 ch. 13 and IGC code. FEA
calculation for ULS and FLS.

4. SNC LAVALLIN – STORNOWAY Renard Diamond Mine Project
Vaporizer Unit of the Power Plant
- Assisted preliminary concept design
- Preparation of preliminary thermodynamic calculations
- Attended HAZOP meeting for risk analysis of the vaporizer and black start-up unit.
Besides the projects that are listed above I had the privilege of contributing to various projects for Air
Liquide, Air Products, Linde, SIAD (Yamal Project) etc.
