been carried out in UK. It provided opportunity for me to improve my communication between UK and GDC. I am responsible
for verifying the Scheme plan and associated deliverables such as Braking distance calculations, Design Log and etc.
Plumpton Level crossing Renewals project, Network Rail: It is a GRIP 3 project and production of designs have been
carried out in UK. I am responsible for verifying the Signal sighting form for signal T644 as this had to be repositioned due to
Level crossing renewals.
Stafford Area Improvement Project – Norton Bridge, Network Rail: It is a SSI based Interlocking scheme and uses
Thales Axle counter system Zp30H. I am responsible for verifying Axle counter schematics for NORTB1 and NORTB2
Interlocking.
Old Oak Common Depot, Network Rail: It is a first project proposed to implement the ElectroLogIXS Interlocking in the
depot. I am responsible for producing the principle ElectroLogIXS Requirement specification to list out the controls required
for interfacing the LOD(K) Lookout equipment.

 Verifying the Master and Red-ink copies of the Scale plans D24, D25/1, D25/2, D37 and D40 for the correlation updates.

Newport Area Signalling Renewals- Maindee & Usk Via duct S&C Renewals, Network Rail: This is an interim project
proposed to renew the S&C since the main commissioning had to be postponed. It is proposed to commission the Axle
counter heads covering the S&C area and interface the Axle counter Evaluators with the E10K Interlocking. It is a novel
design and provided wider opportunity to learn new ideas. It adopts Thales Axle counter system. I am responsible for,
 Producing / Verifying Locations and REB designs to provide the temporary interface arrangement. And also providing
guidance to team members to understand the concepts and proposed design methodologies.
 Producing Axle counter schematics for the provision of Temporary Evaluators and commission of Train detections
covering the S&C areas.
Evergreen 3 project, Network Rail: This is an alteration to existing interlocking to renew the existing assets in Railway to
enable for the Line speed Enhancement. It is a first project where we got an exposure to alter the Chilworth ATP system
hence learning the new technologies. This project also split into many stage commissioning so it was a challenging task to
adopt the design strategy. I am responsible for,
 Producing / Verifying Stage Scheme plans, associated calculations and supporting documents and also DCS (Diagram
Change Sheet).
 Producing / Verifying Location Area plans, TFM Schematics and REB designs.
 Producing the Control tables for MARBONE 4 Interlocking.
Newport Area Signalling Renewals Phase 2 project, Network Rail: It is a first project where I got an opportunity to explore
my understanding on GRIP 4 deliverables. I am responsible for producing / verifying the Location Area plans.
Jul 2005 – Mar 2010: WS Atkins & Partners Overseas, Sharjah, UAE:
Sub Surface Railway (SSR) Project, London Underground: It is one of the huge projects in London Underground which
proposed to introduce CBTC train control system in various lines of the LU network. I got a chance to be part of the early
stage of Bidding process. It provided great opportunity for me to go in detail of the London Underground Signalling standards
and design practices and also understand the working of CBTC train control system. I am responsible for,
 Producing Neasden Depot Interface specification as a supporting document for bidding.
 Going through the Book wiring of the existing designs, understanding the design concepts, finding out the quantum of
alterations required for the project and supporting for preparing a detailed estimation.
North London Infrastructure project (NLRIP), Network Rail: This scheme is of SSI based Interlocking system and mass
renewals of life expired infrastructure. I am responsible for,
 Verifying the Stage 4 Scheme plans 2 and 3.
 Producing Control tables for Channelsea Interlocking (Under mentorship).
 Producing TFM Schematics for Dalston, Canonbury, Camden and Channelsea Interlocking.
Newport Area Signalling Renewals project, Network Rail: This scheme is of Westlock based Interlocking system and
mass renewals of life expired infrastructure. It provided exposure to Westlock system arrangement. Thales Axle counter
system was adopted in this project which was also a good learning to me. This project also increased our reputation since
first time we tried out Automation which produces the Location and REB designs automatically from the Templates. The tool
is named as SARAL (Signalling Automation for REB and Locations). I am responsible for,
 Producing / Verifying the diverse number of Location and REB designs.
 Producing the Aspect Sequence charts for both Phases 1A and 1B schemes under mentorship.

Eastleigh and Kettering Harrowden, Network Rail: These projects helped me to improve my understanding on Principle
works hence could collect evidence to progress my Principle designer Licence. I was assigned with Mentor to provide

Stafford Area Improvement Project – Stafford, Network Rail: It is a SSI based Interlocking scheme. I am responsible for,  Producing the Control tables for DOXEYNTH Interlocking.  Verifying the Axle counter schematics for the entire scheme having 5 Interlocking. May 2011 – Nov 2011: Atkins, Plymouth, UK (Secondment): S7 Signal Engineering Support, London Underground: It is a preliminary project for SSR to introduce the S Stock trains in various services of LU network. It provided great opportunity for me to understand the LU principles, design practices and various design deliverables, I am responsible for,  Verifying the Master and Red-ink copies of the Scale plans D24, D25/1, D25/2, D37 and D40 for the correlation updates.  Assessing the Scale plans D37 to D43 and prepared the document ‘Scope of overlap calculations’.  Producing / Verifying the Overlap calculations for Scale plans D23/2, D24, D25/2, D28, D33, D36, D37, D38, D40, D42 and HC1.  Producing Compromised overlap forms for Scale plans D23/2, D24, D25/2 and D40.  Producing / Verifying the ‘Impact study specification’ for Scale plans D24, D26 and D43.  Producing Signal sighting pack for Scale plan HC1.  Producing the Design Log for the Barking station areas of Scale plan D36.

    Mar 2010 –May 2011: WS Atkins India Pvt.Ltd., GDC Bangalore, India: Newport Area Signalling Renewals- Maindee & Usk Via duct S&C Renewals, Network Rail: This is an interim project proposed to renew the S&C since the main commissioning had to be postponed. It is proposed to commission the Axle counter heads covering the S&C area and interface the Axle counter Evaluators with the E10K Interlocking. It is a novel design and provided wider opportunity to learn new ideas. It adopts Thales Axle counter system. I am responsible for,  Producing / Verifying Locations and REB designs to provide the temporary interface arrangement. And also providing guidance to team members to understand the concepts and proposed design methodologies.  Producing Axle counter schematics for the provision of Temporary Evaluators and commission of Train detections covering the S&C areas. Evergreen 3 project, Network Rail: This is an alteration to existing interlocking to renew the existing assets in Railway to enable for the Line speed Enhancement. It is a first project where we got an exposure to alter the Chilworth ATP system hence learning the new technologies. This project also split into many stage commissioning so it was a challenging task to adopt the design strategy. I am responsible for,  Producing / Verifying Stage Scheme plans, associated calculations and supporting documents and also DCS (Diagram Change Sheet).  Producing / Verifying Location Area plans, TFM Schematics and REB designs.  Producing the Control tables for MARBONE 4 Interlocking. Newport Area Signalling Renewals Phase 2 project, Network Rail: It is a first project where I got an opportunity to explore my understanding on GRIP 4 deliverables. I am responsible for producing / verifying the Location Area plans. Jul 2005 – Mar 2010: WS Atkins & Partners Overseas, Sharjah, UAE: Sub Surface Railway (SSR) Project, London Underground: It is one of the huge projects in London Underground which proposed to introduce CBTC train control system in various lines of the LU network. I got a chance to be part of the early stage of Bidding process. It provided great opportunity for me to go in detail of the London Underground Signalling standards and design practices and also understand the working of CBTC train control system. I am responsible for,  Producing Neasden Depot Interface specification as a supporting document for bidding.  Going through the Book wiring of the existing designs, understanding the design concepts, finding out the quantum of alterations required for the project and supporting for preparing a detailed estimation. North London Infrastructure project (NLRIP), Network Rail: This scheme is of SSI based Interlocking system and mass renewals of life expired infrastructure. I am responsible for,  Verifying the Stage 4 Scheme plans 2 and 3.  Producing Control tables for Channelsea Interlocking (Under mentorship).  Producing TFM Schematics for Dalston, Canonbury, Camden and Channelsea Interlocking. Newport Area Signalling Renewals project, Network Rail: This scheme is of Westlock based Interlocking system and mass renewals of life expired infrastructure. It provided exposure to Westlock system arrangement. Thales Axle counter system was adopted in this project which was also a good learning to me. This project also increased our reputation since first time we tried out Automation which produces the Location and REB designs automatically from the Templates. The tool is named as SARAL (Signalling Automation for REB and Locations). I am responsible for,  Producing / Verifying the diverse number of Location and REB designs.  Producing the Aspect Sequence charts for both Phases 1A and 1B schemes under mentorship.  Producing the Bonding plans for the area covering under Westlocks 1 and 2 Interlocking under mentorship.  Producing Typical Location designs and around 300+ combination of various design templates – I also undertook the additional role as a Template Manager.

    Rugby Station MKII,Nuneaton Phase II Renewals, Port Talbot East Re-signalling and Basingstoke Area Infrastructure Upgrade projects, Network Rail: These schemes are of SSI based Interlocking system and mass renewals of life expired infrastructure. I am responsible for,  Producing / Verifying the diverse number of Location, REB and Axle counter Dis-box designs.  Producing TFM Schematics for Lawford Interlocking under mentorship.  Handling Correlation updates, Source record update and Design hand-back. EAK Replacement Campaign, Network Rail: It is a small project where we have to provide an additional set of DC-DC converters for the Axle counter Evaluators due to some loading issues found by the Maintenance team. I am responsible for verifying 5 Nos. of Axle counter REB designs. Eastleigh and Kettering Harrowden, Network Rail: These projects helped me to improve my understanding on Principle works hence could collect evidence to progress my Principle designer Licence. I was assigned with Mentor to provide guidance throughout the design stage and proper Mentor-Mentee agreement was made and maintained periodically. Under mentorship, I am responsible for,  Producing the Scheme plans and Aspect sequence charts for final stage commissioning.  Producing the Control tables for Southampton Interlocking. Hillmorton New Junction, Network Rail: This scheme is of RRI based interlocking system and it was proposed to provide the Interlocking in REB instead of the conventional concrete room as it was the temporary project and will get de- commissioned after the commissioning of Rugby MKII project. It provided chance to explore the Free-wired Interlocking designs and also helped to gather evidence to work towards getting IRSE Principle designer licence. I am responsible for,  Producing the Relay based various Location designs having different equipment.  Producing Control tables and Hillmorton Relay Room 81M118 for Bridge 274 alterations under mentorship.  Producing Hillmorton Relay Room 81M118 (Selected Routes and Points) for Northampton stage commissioning under mentorship. Experience with… [OTHER COMPANIES PREVIOUS TO ATKINS] Nil Selected Project Experience  Working on Hillmorton project improved my understanding on Free-wired Interlocking design and able to understand the Interlocking concepts referred in the standards.  Working on Port Talbot project provided opportunity to enter in to Electronic Interlocking system such as SSI and able to correlate the understanding of RRI with the SSI system.  Working on Newport project further helped me to develop my career towards Electronic Interlocking system and broaden my understanding on Westlock Interlocking system.  Working on Eastkent project provided an opportunity to develop my career towards Ladder Logic Interlocking system such as VHLC and provided different path for my career.  Working on ElectroLogIXS Level crossing design development helped me to develop my understanding on modern interlocking technologies and keep me updated about the modern Railway signalling system.
