This document provides directions and concepts for creating 3D animated videos to explain 3D printing processes. It describes creating simple monochrome animations to show the layered additive process using two print heads and materials. Examples include the build platform appearing and the print head starting to print layers of part and support materials. Alternative designs incorporate augmented reality overlays to describe elements of the process in more detail through animated graphics that match interview audio. Revisions are suggested to computer generated footage, including using line renders and white backgrounds with tracked overlay labels to brand machines.
