This document summarizes a study on automated highway systems in Amravati, India. The study explores the concept of automated highway systems, which allow vehicles to be driven automatically through the use of vehicle and roadway control technologies. The objectives of the study are to develop new tools for controlling urban transportation through demonstration of viable automated systems, and to research how traffic and road factors affect accident rates. The study also reviews past literature on automated highway systems and their advantages. The methodology examines validation lanes for automated vehicles and macroscopic traffic modeling to control vehicle speed and density across the highway.
