• Qualitative approach was used
• Population: Third of the total population (n=38)
of grade 10 and 12 learners at Ella Du Plessis
and Hage Geingob High schools

Findings
The study find out:
• lack of awareness of the policy existence
in schools
• inconsistency in the policy implementation
by school authorities
• lack of monitoring of the policy implemen-
tation by schools and officials of the
Ministry of Education
• Lack of parental guidance
• Exploitation of girls
• Alcohol abuse
• Encourage abstinenceRecommendations
The study recommended the following
measures:
• create public awareness about
the policy;
• provision of the teenage pregnancy
policy in all schools;
• continuous monitoring of the policy
implementation in schools by
Ministry officials.
