What is Stress?
• Stress is when we feel that we can not manage or
control the situation we are in, or in a demanding
situations.
• Stress is our body’s response to changes in our
life.
• Stress is how we react when we feel when we are
under pressure in any situation or when we are
threatened.
• It is dominated by worry & anxiety
• Stress is the “wear and tear” which our minds
and bodies experience as we attempt to cope
with our continually challenging and changing
environment
Stress management is life
management. If you take control of
your stress, your life will thank you.

Importance of Stress Management
• Work –
There is no profession without some form of stress.
Stress impacts your productivity and progress at
work. To be a better employee, co-worker or
supervisor you should manage your stress.
• Health-
Stress has an huge impact on our body, which
can lead to many diseases. Managing stress will help
you to live a healthy and happy life.
• Relationship-
Our relationship with our loved ones always
suffers when the stress remains unmanaged. It
impacts our relationships. Managing stress can help
us to maintain happy relationships.
Causes
Stress Produces following Feelings
Worry Depression Anxiety
Fear Tension Fatigue
Anger
Stress is caused by your thought , not the
situation.
Stress Control
The most important point is to recognise the
source of the negative stress. This is not an
admission of weakness or inability to cope! It
is a way to identify the problem and plan
measures to overcome it.
ABC Strategy
• Awareness - What causes you stress? How do
you react?
• Balance -There is a fine line between Positive
and Negative stress. How much can you cope
with stress before it becomes negative?
• Control - What can you do by yourself to
combat the negative effects of stress?

ability to choose one thought over

Tips for stress management
Exercise everyday for 45mins-1hr.
Relax your muscles by stretching
Deep Breathing
Eat healthy and a well-balanced diet
Slow down and take out sometime for yourself
Take a break from you routine
Make Time for your Hobbies
Be expressive about your problems.
Don’t be hard on yourself
Get rid of all your stress triggers
Adopting a right
attitude can
convert a
negative stress
into a positive
