2. Why am I in BIUST?

you do somethings? Why you make
or you made some decisions?
oIf yes, then are you doing enough to
reach for that reason,
oIf no, why don’t you start now?
3. Tertiary myths
oYou don’t have to sleep without a degree
oYou have all the freedom to do all things
and still make it
oYou just have to be close to lecturers to
get what you want, no need to work hard
oYour senior school performance is
proportional to you tertiary performance
oYou are nobody if you don’t party and hang
up.
4. Understanding yourself
o Identify your position
o Define your purpose
o Define your need
o Set goals
o Design a life plan
‘In life the happiest
people are those
who have an
achievable
purpose.’

5. Understanding yourself
Who I am
o Never dwell on your past
because each day is a new
day.
o Refer to your past not to
regret but to avoid
repeating mistakes.
o You need to know who you
are now, to measure how
much effort you need, to
change to who you want
to be.
Who I want to be
o Accept failure now,
because every success is
defined by failure.
o Know your pillar, and live
it, that is let GOD be on
top of everything you do.
o Change your ways, focus
and your lifestyle to be
online with the new being
you want to be.
6. My mirror 1
1. Write down everything you want to
achieve at the end of this semester in a
book or a safe storage, i.e. your GPA,
clubs and sports achievements, charity
work, relationship with GOD and other
people etc.
2. Write down all the things you know
might stop you from achieving those and
find ways to deal with them.
7. Defining your future
o What kind of life do I want to live, in BIUST,
after the next five years or so…
o What do I need, what do I have, and what
can I improve?
1. Resources
2. Relationships
3. Potential
4. Strength
5. Weaknesses
8. SWOT Analysis
What to do?
Strengths
What am I good at?
Weaknesses
What are the things giving me
difficulty?
Which of them are directly affecting
what I want to become?
Opportunities
Do I have anything, relationships,
goodwill, class or so that will help
me achieve my goals.
Threats
What are the stumbling blocks to
your success that are beyond your
control as an individual.
9. What is success?
o Success is acquiring something that
you needed and have planned for,
with the right strategy of how to
get that thing in the shortest
possible and rightful way.
o How do I define my success?
o Why define success?
o Who can succeed?
11. My mirror 2
1. Write down your own SWOT analysis
table. Compare your stumbling blocks
with those in the previous activity.
Keep in mind what you want to achieve.
2. Draw a roadmap on how you are going
to achieve each goal.
3. Finally act on your mirror and keep
updating it, by making analysis,
comparisons, and reflections.
12. ‘Those who listen have
better chances of success
than their complements,
but those who listen and
act will always be on the
top.’
