• The average critic’s score for Hollywood films is 5 out of 10.
• The average critic’s score for low budget British films is 6.5
out of 10.
• Across all films, British films get higher audience ratings than
American ones
• Broadly, audiences and critics agree on the ‘quality’ of a film
• British films that critics loved but audiences hated include
The Deep Blue Sea (2011), Coriolanus (2011) and The Arbour
(2010).
• Judging from all in information based upon the films British
films kind of have a higher rating and a higher audience but
being honest American films are more well know compared to
British films.

 Genre- West coast hip hop, gangster rap.
 They had three songs, “Straight outta Compton”
released on July 10th 1988.
 “Gangster” released on September 5th 1988.
 “Express yourself” released on march 27th 1989.
 The film is about a group NWA who emerges
from the man streets of Compton in L.A. Mid
1980’s hop culture with their music and tales
about life in the hood.

 The film is based upon a man who suffered a
heart attack at 59 years old, a carpenter must
fight the bureaucratic forces of the system in
order to receive employment.

 Filmed in locations like London and England.
 Box office opening weekend- 337,649 euros
(Italy).

 While shooting in California the production spent $50 million
in the state.
 Beats by Dre launched a new app through the website
“StraightOuttaSomewhere.com.” The app allows users to create
a meme by uploading a picture with the "Straight Outta" logo
and fill in the blank with a location of their choice. In under 24
hours, over 78,000 "Straight Outta" images were downloaded
on social media sites and over 6 million downloads were
generated before the film's opening day.
 Straight Outta Compton grossed $161.2 million in the United
States and Canada. Also $40.4 million in other territories for a
worldwide total of $201.6 million. A website called
Deadline.com calculated the net profit of the film to be $91.1
million, when factoring together all expenses and revenues for
the film.

 On the opening weekend, the film went on to make
£5.44 million, and to date has made nearly £10 million
at the box office.

 Worldwide Box Office $9,161,059.
 I, Daniel Blake became Loach’s biggest U.K opening of
all time with $540,000, topping his previous Palme
winner The Wind That Shakes the Barley.
 While that 2006 hit about the Irish War of
Independence may still be his biggest box-office
success in the U.K., 90 percent of its $4.9 million came
from Ireland.
 I, Daniel Blake, currently at $3.8 million but still
packing cinemas is by far his most successful film
taking into account just England, Scotland and Wales.
