Editor's Notes

  • #2 photos
  • #3 How old do you think the program has been running for? -over 10 years Formalized 5 years ago A year ago the structured the program -what portfolio does it fall undeR? Lib + literature The older kids tend to mentor or assist in the program(reading, activity) Purpose: -covers a bigger age range -cultural + faith + secular -reinforcing mhi guidance : ex exercising 2 hours/day, charity (wpw), taking care of the eldery,
  • #5 The program is held once a month with a new theme covered every month. Usually, the themes are associated to significant events happening in that month, either within our faith (i.e. Milad un-Nabi, Partnership Walk) or within the greater Canadian society (i.e. Mother’s Day). -paraphrasing firmans -They do need to ensure that the main points are covered so that they are meeting the objectives of the program. An important component of the lesson plan is the clear articulation of how the theme links up with our faith. =activities: minimual prep work, inexpensive = budget??? -sample themes:Being Healthy Love & Care for Elderly Spring & Renewal Caring for Mother Earth Generosity & Giving Honoring Parents     Education: Meritocracy Thankful & content Voluntarism: service & sacrifice Multi-faith Celebrations
  • #6 -All centres receive an outline via e-mail at least 2 weeks prior to the story telling date.
  • #7 Ongoing communication: for monthly updates, collection of attendance, upcoming events, any challenges, Events: book launch, initiation of registration + attendance (sept) Improved Parents’ & jamats’ perception of program – marketing - sub-teaming sectors by geographic proximity
