VIS (Växjö International Students) is the international student association at Växjö University with approximately 600 members per semester. It organizes various social and cultural events throughout the year for international students, including trips within Sweden and abroad. The association is part of Erasmus Student Network (ESN) and has approximately 40-60 volunteers. It is led by a board of 15 members who each spend 10-15 hours per week organizing events and providing support to international students. Board positions have various responsibilities but are unpaid volunteer roles.

The club’s life is diverse and full of happenings. In this presentation, we will shortly tell you about events, which made our life bright in 2008. These are trips around Ukraine and abroad, social help to the needy and, of course, arrival of new members to the club and the radical renewal of the team. Besides that, you’ll read about our plans for the first half of 2009, which we successfully accomplished.

Be it an API, a SaaS, a PaaS, or even a static website, someone somewhere will try to figure out a way to use it to their own needs. In this talk we'll compare measures that are effective against static attackers and how to battle a dynamic attacker who adapts to your counter-measures.

On average, board members report spending 10-15 hours per week on
VIS, including weekly board meetings (2 hours), going on trips (1-9 days
at a time), and various other duties (e.g. office hours).
Note that you can modulate your workload depending on your
availability by signing up to more or less working groups and events.
Will we get a compensation?
Not financially; however, you don’t need to pay for the trips that you’re
leading, you’ll get invited to free bonding activities and training events,
and you get a few other small benefits (hoodies etc.)
