2. What is Descriptive Text?
Descriptive text is a text which says what a
person, thing or place is like, it’s written when you
want to make the readers imagine what you are
describing about.

3. Generic Structure of Descriptive Text
Descriptive text has generic structure as below:
 Identification : Identifying the particular
thing to be described.
 Description : Describing the parts,
qualities, and characteristics of someone, things, or
places.

4. Language Features of Descriptive Text
The language features of Descriptive Text
are as below:
 Use adjectives and compound adjectives e.g.
brown-skinned, curly-hair, beautiful, etc.
 Use linking verbs is, are etc.
 Use question words what, who, which, how,
where, etc.
 Use pronoun I, you, we, they, he, she, it.
 Use action verb related to the simple present tense,
e.g. be, have, work, live, etc.
