This document contains descriptions of several still shots from a music video by the band Blink-182. The shots show the band running through the streets naked and causing disruptions to appeal to their target punk pop genre audience. A wide shot shows the band running through a basketball game between younger people. A close-up focuses on the lead singer for recognition purposes. Another wide shot uses the "male gaze" by including an attractive female and showing the band interacting with her.

2. This is a wide shot of the band running through the street naked. This
shows that they are rebellious and don’t care about what people think
off them. Its in the day time which shows again they don’t care because
they know people will be around. This will appeal to the target audience
of the genre and promote the band to them. A wide shot is used to fit
them all in and show that is unusual. We also see the reaction of the
other bystanders. They looked shocked and will draw attention to the
band which is exactly what they are tying to achieve.

3. Once again the band are naked showing that they are relaxed and
don’t care what others think of them. This will also draw attention to
the band and promote them. They have colorful props such as amps
and instruments but are playing in a plain white room. This gives an
unusual effect like the genre which is also unusual. The shot is once
again a wide shot because they want to bring across the strangeness
and get all members of the band to promote it further.

4. This shot is of the reaction of the band running through the street by
people in a car pulling up to a hotel. The band are troublesome and
rebellious so are causing trouble through town. The reactions of the
bystanders are dramatic and over the top. This is a convention in music
videos because sound cant be used to reinforce a point. The
bystanders happen to be both attractive girl in a nice car. These are
also both conventions of music videos and the punk pop genre. The
other bystander is a man working for the hotel and therefore a member
of authority. However the band take no notice of this and continue on
their run showing they are been especially rebellious; appealing to the
target audience even more.

5. This screen shot is a wide shot showing the band, blink 182 running through a
game of basket ball. A wide shot is used to show the comparison between the
two separate groups. The band on the left and the younger stereotypical
teenager group on the right. The shot shows the contrast between the two
groups and the band come across as the more dominant group. The band run
over naked and shoot a hoop and run off leaving the younger generation
speechless. The song is about forgetting your age and been a kid again. This is
typical for punk pop because with the genre you associate things like been
young and party’s and drugs all of which are associated with the younger
generation.

6. This shot is a close up and is showing the lead singer of the band blink
182. the reason why a close up is used here is because it wants the lead
singer to be recognized. They are very conventional because they are a
great way to promote the band. Lots of these type of close ups are used
on the main lead singer so that its clear he is the lead singer. When the
other members of the band are shown they are presented by the use of a
long shot.

7. Another wide shot has ben used to fit all the members of the band in. This
is conventional because it uses the male gaze. This means that males are
attracted to the attractive female in the video. This female is stereotypical
for the punk pop genre because she's attractive and is wearing
inappropriate clothing. The band running through the street demonstrate
the male gaze because they stop and turn around to walk with her. The
lighting in the screen shot is high key which shows that it wants to be
clear and seen by the viewer.

8. This is a low angle show of the band once again causing trouble and
been rebellious. A low angle shot is used because it shows that the
band are dominant in this situation and are causing trouble. The shot
also captures the reaction of the bystanders. The shot is on a street
corner and the low angle shot with a corner gives an unusual effect.
This will appeal to the punk pop genre target audience.
