INTRODUCTION
Food is essential to life. So make it good.
Merienda is a light meal in the middle of the afternoon or before dinner in Spanish
speaking countries such as Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Cuba the Dominican Republic
Colombia, and spain. For merienda, they usually have a sandwich, or piece of bread with
sausage, pasta, or pastries, accompanied by a drink, hot or cold, such as coffee,
smoothie, juice, hot chocolate, or milk. It can also consist of a piece of fruit, yogurt,
coffee with milk, etc.
There are also benefits of Glutinous Rice (Malagkit Rice). First the Glutinous Rice also
known as Malagkit rice is a particular type of rice where you usually find it in certain
Southeastern Asian countries. It also has a sweet taste. Based on USDA (United States
Department of Agriculture) there are nutrients that will benefit to our health such as
protein, carbohydrate, calcium, iron and sodium. It will help us to prevent several
diseases like chronic disease and diabetes.

22. LEGAL ENVIRONMENT
Mayor’s Permit / Business Permit
Mayor’s permit is sometimes referred to as business permit, since it is
processed in the office of the mayor. Since all cities have different ordinances,
securing a Mayor’s permit ensures that your business is safe to operate under
your city’s ordinance. Take note that receiving a mayor’s permit can only be
done after registering your business with DTI (for self-employed individuals)
and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC; for corporations and
partnerships). Mayor’s permit needs to be renewed annually.
23. LEGAL ENVIRONMENT
Barangay Permit
• Ensuring your company is properly licensed helps to bring protection to
yourself, your employees and customers. Having the correct licensed will ensure
your personal assets are protected on case of lawsuit as well as providing
protection for you if your business is damaged. This works the other way around
too as if you are personally liable for injuring another, your businesses finances
will not be available in the settlement. A licensed business is completely separate
from yourself, meaning your company’s taxes aren’t filed with your own. This
makes it far easier to report income as well as businesses losses.
24. LEGAL ENVIRONMENT
Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)
This is the most important requirement of all, because this is necessary to
acquire other permits and licenses. All Philippine-based businesses, individually
owned or corporation, must submit a tax statement at the end of each fiscal year;
thus, having a tax identification number (TIN) is crucial.
25. LEGAL ENVIRONMENT
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Business Name (BN) Registration
Certification
• Obtaining a registration certification from DTI is also important. This
certificate authorizes you to use your own trading name for any business-
related operation.it also secures your name from being used by someone else.
Although you are given a right over your business name, running a business
without TIN, barangay clearance, or other license is useless.
26. LEGAL ENVIRONMENT
Sanitary Inspection
• A sanitary inspection is an on-site inspection and evaluation by qualified
individuals of all conditions, devices, and practices in the water supply system
that pose an actual or potential danger to the health and well-being of the
consumer.
