CAREER OBJECTIVE
My objective is to pursue a career in designing mechanical systems for various buildings, which includes
designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems. I also wish to learn more about sustainable systems
and other mechanical systems throughout my work so that I may design them in the future. I am also eager
to contribute to as many projects as possible in order gain experience in technical design, professional
practices and project management throughout the industry.

CO-OP WORK EXPERIENCE
Smith and Andersen Engineering Consulting Ltd. Burnaby, British Columbia
Co-op Student January 2015 – August 2015
Assisted in heating and cooling load modelling, HVAC and plumbing design in over 20 projects, including
North Richmond Shopping Centre, Tsawwassen Mills Mall, and several Vancouver high-rise apartment and
condo buildings.
Drafted ducting and plumbing plans using AutoCAD MEP for preliminary design, detailed design and
change in construction notices.
Calculated required ventilation according to ASHRAE 62.1 via spreadsheet for a variety of projects.
Calculated required building heating and cooling loads using Elite energy modelling software.
Assisted in verifying quotes for plumbing and construction changes from contractors.
Performed on-site surveys to gather preliminary data and knowledge for heating and cooling load
calculations, HVAC and plumbing design.
Stantec Consulting Ltd. Vancouver, British Columbia
Mechanical Co-op Student May 2014 – August 2014
Assisted in design and drafting for three industrial projects: two bus storage and maintenance facilities
(Saskatoon, SA and Toronto, ON), and a sea canal pump station (New Orleans, LA).
Drafted AHU zoning, HVAC ducting and P&IDs using AutoCAD.
Modeled the office zone HVAC ducting and equipment for one of the bus storage and maintenance facilities
using 3D modelling in AECOsim.
Conducted preliminary HVAC calculations for a few projects, which included ventilation, heating and
cooling loads, and energy inputs.
Sleeman Breweries Ltd. Vernon, British Columbia
Junior Project Engineer September 2013 – December 2013
2. Steven Kasper; 2190 Pinecrest Ave, Coquitlam, BC Canada, V3J6T6; 604-842-7118; kaspersteven7@gmail.com
Assisted in capital projects and carried out regular tasks, which included managing and reorganizing
technical drawings and documentation and performing a variety of engineering related tasks for different
staff members.
Created a report on the current status of the IAQ of the main plant building and operations of the existing
HVAC systems within the main plant building.
Drafted several of proposed floor plans and P&IDs (process and information diagrams) using AutoCAD.
TECHNICAL PROJECTS
Capstone Project: Cogeneration for Completions (Shell Canada) Vancouver, British Columbia
Scheduler, Heat exchanger design and simulations September 2015 – April 2016
Worked with a team of 5 to design a heat exchanger system for heating water used for the completions
process. The designed system recovers heat from diesel engine exhaust gas and transfers it to the water via
shell and tube heat exchanger in order to raise the water temperature that’s appropriate for the completions
process.
The finished system design includes: manifold ducting to collect exhaust gas, a back-flow prevention valve
for each engine exhaust outlet, and a shell & tube heat exchanger specifically designed to counter soot
accumulation problem.
My roles in this project included project scheduling, and technical analysis, design and modelling of the heat
exchanger.
OTHER WORK EXPERIENCE
Fit Foods Ltd. Port Coquitlam, British Columbia
Production Line Worker May 2013 – August 2013
Worked on a packaging line for bagging muscle-mass and protein powder of various brands working with a
team of four or more.
Used various equipment and machinery in order to fill bags, seal bags and package bags into 30 lb. boxes
with protein powder at a very fast and efficient pace.
Coast Mountain Geological Ltd. Prince Rupert, British Columbia
Assistant Camp Manager June 2012 – July 2012
Assisted Camp Manager in his duties and performed regular routines such as cleaning, fueling vehicles and
transporting workers and rock sample from field site to camp site.
Managed the regular task of transporting 5 to 6 people and a heavy cargo of rock samples safely and quickly
on a rough logging road for a 30km trip each way.
