Thisassignmentwe hadto pickfive stereotypesthatwe hadinour high-school.Stereotypingis
assumingthatall membersof a group matchthe characteristicsof the individual youhave seen.After
we discussedwhatstereotypingwaswe came togetherasa classand sharedwhateach groupdecided
on overall.Afterwritingall of ourgroupsthoughtsto the biggeststereotypesonthe boardwe picked
the most commonstereotypes.We discussedwhywe chose itandwhat makespeople partof a certain
stereotype.Ourgroupendeduppickingrednecks,jocks,nerds,preps,andband.The reasonwe chose
these wasbecause theywere the mostcommonamongthe three of us. I chose jocks,nerds,preps,band
geeks,andgoths.I chose these because theyseemedthe mostcommononT.V.showssuchas Glee.I
wentto a small Christianschool withoutverymanyclicksandstereotypes.We were all justone big
group/family.Ithoughtthatthisassignmentreallyopenedupmyeyestothe typesof stereotypesthat
are around me.I onlythoughtthat stereotypeswere afictional thingthatwasjustinmoviesabouthigh
school butafter discussingwiththe classIrealizedthatmanyof the people aroundme hadbeenhurtby
this.I learnedalotfrom thisassignmentandhope toneverfall intocategorizingpeople bythe waythey
