Saint Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians and church music. Her feast day is celebrated on November 22nd in the Roman Catholic Church. She was a noble lady of Rome who suffered martyrdom along with her husband Valerian and his brother Thateus. According to legend, Cecilia arranged for her home to be preserved as a church before being arrested, and after attempts to kill her in a bathhouse and by beheading failed, she survived for three more days before dying.
