Saint Cecilia was a Roman Christian martyr in the 2nd century who is the patron saint of music and musicians. She was born into a poor family in Rome and lived her life devoted to God, becoming a nun instead of marrying as was expected. Saint Cecilia was stabbed in the neck three times but miraculously survived for three days before dying, making her a martyr.
