ELD Mandate Overview
The ELD of choice must directly monitor the engine to
automatically capture power, motion, mileage, and hours.
Driver must be able to log-in and select their status.
The device must be able display the worker’s hours of service in
an easy and readable format.

1. Towing equipment with a gross weight
over 10,000
2. 150 air-mile radius for non-CDL drivers;
100 air-mile radius for commercial drivers
3. Drivers that use paper RODS for no more
than 8 days during any 30-day period
4. Drivers that conduct "drive away-tow
away" operations
5. Vehicles older than model year 2000
